Proto-Cyber Dragon
Light/Machine/3/1100/600
When this card is face up on the field, the name of this card is treated as Cyber Dragon.
Ive playtested this card out in a cyber dragon deck that utilized power bond as the rimary means of fusing for cyber twin dragon and cyber end dragon, and I was slapping both fusions on the field if not during my first turn then within the next two. Getting a monster with 5600ATK that can attack twice during the same battle phase is freakin sick, when combined with your basic monster removal and a de-fusion or two your field presence is indomitable, summoning cyber end dragon didnt occur as often but victory was almost ensured when it did hit the field. And no i didnt use any subsitute monsters, but imagine how fast i would have be summoning it if i had. Watch out for this card, plus this cards effect allows you to combo it well with attack reflect unit, which i think is overrated by the way, but back on topic, this card is going to make cyber dragons DECKS and not just cyber dragon a serious force to be reckoned with.
I think it's great, but of course, ONLY in a deck based around Cyber Dragon.
The big good side is that it ONLY is "named" Cyber Dragon while it is face-up on the field, thus, not restricting it at all in terms of deckbuilding like Harpie's or Umi/A Legendary Ocean. So this means you can use 3 of each. This also means that (this already happened a few times) that if the opponent uses cards that require them to declare a card name, they HAVE to call "Proto Cyber Dragon" if it's to work. If they call "Cyber Dragon" then it will not work since it's in my hand =P.
So if it's face-up on the field, you'll be able to use it with Power Bond, Polymerization, Photon Generator Unit or Attack Reflector Unit. I believe that the PRIMARY use for it is with the 2 Unit's though since they require "Cyber Dragon" as tributes.
It's also searchable with Shining Angel, Last Will, UFOroid and such so it's easy to get face-up on the field.
The only real downside being that, if you can't get it Special Summoned, you'll have to waste your Normal Summon and that it's only 1100/600 which most stuff can take down pretty easily, but if your deck is truly dedicated, then you wouldn't Normal Summon it unless you already have Power Bond or something in your hand already.
Heck, with its low ATK, you could use Heart of Clear Water on it too XD.
I could definitely see some pure Cyber Dragon decks (like mine posted in the Deck Depot ^_^) be used a bit more with Proto Cyber Dragon's release. I've already managed to pull out a Cyber Barrier Dragon, Cyber Laser Dragon and Cyber Twin Dragon in 1 turn thanks to it (3 Proto on the field and 2 regular in hand).
Yea, i was so surprised by the synergy the card provided for the entire deck, i was summoning like freaking crazy, cyber end dragon did require me to use more of my resources but it the instances when i did choose to summon the monster it did work for me , at first i thought the deck would lack spell and trap removal but i found that it wasnt really that important because the fusions was hitting the field so quickly.
Yeah, the deck should and will usually work if you dedicate it to Cyber Dragon ALONE without trying to cram D. D. Assailant, D. D. Warrior Lady, Exiled Force, Jujitsu Master and junk into it.
It never hurts to have some of those cards that work in "Copy Decks" (also have one in the Deck Depot).
Don't forget the Light Hex Sealed Fusion. With two means of getting the big hitter to the field, as well as the ability to run six cards named Cyber Dragon, this deck just might have the consistency to be truly competitive. If may even have 2TK potential. I look forward to doing more work with this deck after the next set comes out.
However, I do fear the Proto Cyber Dragon just may be Konami's/UDE's/whoever's way of telling us that Cyber Dragon will be restricted. They don't want CC decks to be able to splash two or more Cyber Dragon, but at the same time, they want to keep to possible to get Cyber Twin/End on the field by means of fusion.
yea i think the same thing, i really see something being banned or limited, i hope not because cyber end dragons being summoned on the first turn by powerbond is no joke regardless of what your opponent has on the field. more than likely it will be powerbond which really sucks because konami is always releasing great machine support cards and then limiting them. i guess they thought the drawback of powerbond was decent enough to balance out its playability but I and many others really arent afraid of it all to much, because if you dont win on that turn then at least you have done serious damage to your opponets LP and field presence. Konami is really lacking in the foresight department, yea i really think powerbond will be limited very soon.

I thought you couldnt use fusion subs for cyber end and cyber twin. it says on the card you can only do it with the cyber dragons...............unless im making a mistake again >.>

It says you can only perform a Fusion Summon using Cyber Dragon. The Light Hex Sealed Fusion performs a Special Summon, therefore it isn't restricted by Cyber Twin/End's effect. Don't worry, a lot of people don't realize that at first (including myself).
Of course, ZaQ means the Secondary effect of the Hex's are Special Summons.
It's true that you cannot use Polymerization/Fusion Gate/Power Bond with the Hex's as a substitute in a Fusion Summon for Cyber Twin/End Dragon, but you CAN use its secondary effect of tributing it and the other fusion material monster(s) to Special Summon them straight from the Fusion Deck.
im glad that at least we can make a good deck out of cyber dragons, i knew i got 3 power bonds for sumthing, its extreamly easy. summon cyber dragon, normal summon proto, and if u just happen to have a cyber drragon in ur hand, with power bond, thats 8000atk with trample, ....just lovely.....
but as of now without the protos, i use the light hex, like some one above mentioned, its pretty easy especially run in 3s....i wish we had more things 2 power bond, but it is pretty funny power bonding to make steamgyroid and attacking for 4400....
3400 ATK (depending on effect) while only taking a small 1200 damage during your End Phase, lol. And Roboyarou/Lady are both searchable to get to your hand or Field as well.
