I need this question answered IMMEDIATELY, due to Regionals on Saturday. I have heard different answers from different judges, and i wanna try and set this straight....
Self-Destruct Button
Type: Trap
Effect: You may only activate this card when the difference between your and your opponent's Life Points is 7000 or more. Both players Life Points become "0"(Zero).
With this would be making it a draw. Now i have questioned who goes first after a draw...The Person who went first in the duel where a draw was the end result, or would it be a re-roll. So far i have had 3 judges say the Person who went first goes 1st, and 2 say re-roll...

I just want a Majority answer...
If you mean who goes first in the next duel after the one with the draw, I just say re-roll to see who goes first. Usually the loser gets to choose who goes first, but if it's a draw, I just say re-roll.
I understand that, the only reason i was asking, is because I would want to go first again, so i am going to attempt to fight it, until they errata the rulebook or something....They need to make a definite answer on who would go first...
Generally, it is the same person that went first the previous turn, you do not reroll to see who goes first.
Sorry, this is incorrect.
Generally, the person who lost the previous duel would have the right to choose. However, if the previous duel was a draw, you would have to roll a die, flip a coin, play rock-paper-scissors, etc... to determine who is allowed to choose in the next game.
This is the official and final ruling on this issue.
You can try to fight it at regionals, but you'd have to get lucky - the judge would have to make a mistake.
Also, I'd advise against running a SD Button deck (that takes advantage of the time limit) - the tiebreaker rules are against you.
I thought it was in the policy file before, but I can't find it now. It use to be whoever decided the game that ended in a draw got to choose. I'd just ask the head judge before the tournament so you know ahead of time.
I stand corrected. The latest version of the rule book does state that you re-roll; however, I'm pretty certain that the rule use to be that the person who went first the previous round goes first.
Thanks for the correction Coolkid70

Where does it say to re-roll? I didn't find it in the policy.
Page five (page nine on the pdf file) of the official rule book states as follows:
"Whoever wins the coin toss can decide to go first or second. For
subsequent Duels in the Match, the loser of the previous Duel decides
who starts first.
If the previous Duel ended in a tie, re-toss a coin to determine who
starts first in the next Duel."

Thanks. I'm not sure if it's right 100% though since it has some other info wrong....I think. It says you can win with 1 win and 2 draws or it's a Draw if there is 1 win each and 1 draw or 3 draws. The policy says you can't have a draw ever and 1 win and 2 draws you should just keep playing until time runs out then follow end of match procedures. I'd go with reroll though unless the head judge says otherwise.

Huh. Anyone know when this changed? Man, this game's rules are hard to keep up with.
