I just recently aquired hero emerges and I had a question on how it works when your opponent attacks you activate it then he picks a card from your hand and is summoned to the field does that mean even cards that have a special way of being summoned sent to the field because im currently using gearfried the legend and gearfried the sword master can they be special summoned to the field with it or they can't because the sword master has be summoned with realease restraint and gearfried the legend cannot be special summoned I'd like to know how this card really works. maybe some examples would help figure out on it can be used in warrior deck

i believe it if special summon only or nomi then it is just sent to the grave yard and you wasted your card... so i do not believe it would work with the gearfied card

From the rulings on A Hero Emerges......

You can Special Summon a high-level monster, like "Dark Magician", with "A Hero Emerges". But if your opponent selects a Special Summon-only monster like "Dark Necrofear", or a Spirit Monster, it is sent to the Graveyard.

wich includes nomi monsters becuz they ahve the same line about special summoning as the spirit monsters, the only difference is that the nomi monster CAN be special summoned but only on one way, wich is listed on the card

No, it cannot Special Summon monster's that have Special Summoning requirements.

It MUST be a Monster Card that can normally be Normal Summoned or else it will be sent to the graveyard.

One slight augmentation, just so you don't get confused. If there a summoning condition that is valid, say like with (Guardian Baou) and that condition can be met (Wicked-Breaking Flamberge: Baou is on the field) then the monster willbe special summoned if selected through A Hero Emerges.
