I am trying to work out a deck that almost totally eliminates the Graveyard from play. The goal is to slow or cripple my opponent by eliminating their searchers, graveyard recursion and the RFG from the Graveyard aspect while keeping my game moving through the use of specialized searchers. I want to try to control my opponent by eliminating the Graveyard as a tool and reducing his monster options through cards that will return his monsters to the deck or allow me to take them for my use. This deck is *very* rough and not ready for play, yet. I am trying to avoid a straight Gravekeeper deck and would welcome any ideas on what the weaknesses are or cards that can help this format. I know I need to add draw power to keep it flowing. I am considering adding a Morphing Jar, Des Lacoodas or Dekoichi/Tsuko combo, but have to work out the balance. It is monster heavy right now, mostly because I am having trouble picking some appropriate spell/traps. I know I am missing some of the weaknesses, so please feel free to point them out (and correct them if possible).
There is No Death: A Graveyard Denial Deck
(18/14/8)
You have an Idea but once you have both Necrovalley and The End of Anubis on the field all graveyeard effect cards other then DD Warrior Lady, DD Warrior, and DD Assiliant will have been negated. In order to aquire this field postion you need to be able to summon them quickly a surly. Don't be concerned with return monsters to a players hand, be concerned with Keeping Necrovalley and The End of Anubis on the field over any other card combination in your deck.
I also suggest taking out the Ghost Knights *not until we get Shrink*
You can try Mystic Swordman Lv.6; heès pretty powerful and unlike the other LV monsters, he can be summoned without using Lv 4s Effect.
I dont like Winged Sage Falcos because unless that Falcos has a permanent way of being at least 2200 ATK *Rising Air Current* he wont be destroying much.
See, I think U should focus either on Locking their Graveyard by preventing any Monsters from getting there (Falcos) or acquiring control of al the Monsters you kill (Try Red Moon Baby) Nice ideas, very original, but just focus on 1, IMO
Saito and Magna: Thanks, it seems my primary weakness in deckbuilding is lack of focus. I appreciate the input. I have edited the original posting and welcome any additional commentary.
Here are the changes so far:
-2 Ghost Knight of Jackal
-1 Grave Protector
-2 Winged Sage Falcos
-1 Creature Swap
+1 End of Anubis
+1 Gravekeeper's Assailant
+2 Terraforming
+2 Rite of Spirit
Ghost Knight was fun, but as Magna indirectly pointed out, he is a little weak. And while I like taking opponents monsters Ghost Knight brings them back in defense position which is not as good. Falcos is also a little weak, but may remain in the sidedeck as a 4-star.
The 3rd EoA might be overkill, but I am looking for another solid monster, preferably a tribute, to fill the slot and add some punch. MS Lv6 sounds good, but I have 2 things against it. I hate putting the card in defense, especially since I am not using any FLIP monsters in this deck to draw the Noblemans and MS Lv2s. And I do not own one, yet........
The Rite of Spirits allow me to bring back GKs whether Necrovalley is out or not, so I also added a GK Assailant to help. Terraforming helps ensure I have a Necrovalley ready
Magna: I have been wanting to work in Red Moon Baby since I acquired one, but his 700 ATK is a pain to work with, even with an Axe of Despair.
Let me know what you think of the updates. I will be happy to return the favor and r/f any decks.
If you want to deny your opponent of their graveyard the Necrovally Anubis combo is deffinetly going to do that. Now if you don't want their monsters to even hit the grave their r a few options.
D.D. Warrior Lady, D.D. Assaliant, and D.D. Warrior all deny monster to graveyard interaction. Cards like Magician of Faith won't work if you have the Necrovally on the field.
As you know I'm working on removal in Dark World so what about this. Mabey :ermm: try Banisher of Light. With that on the field their is no graveyard. And with Different Dimension on the loose that could be risky. But anything is worth testing. I know that its not what you were looking for but it was a thought. Grave Protector esentially does the same when you have your Gravekeepers kill monsters.
Avoiding the total Gravekeeper strategy might be pretty immposible. In my opinion Gravekeepers are one of the best ways to negate some graveyard effects. You could go with a strait gravekeeper and Necrovally with Grave Protector and Anubis to stop the effects of Newdoria and Sangan along with Magician of Faith and Premature Burial. And you can still use your grave effects if you have Gravekeepers Chief on the field.
Finally here's what I think:
-1 End of Anubis
-3 Hydrogeddon
-1 Terraforming
-2 Axe of Despair
-1 Magic Jammer
-1 7 Tools of the Bandit
+1 Gravekeeper's Chief
+1 Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier
+1 D.D. Warrior Lady
+1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
+1 Nobleman of Crossout
+1 Brain Control
+1 Smashing Ground or Dark Core
+2 Bottomless Trap Hole
+1 Rite of Spirit
It may be strait gravekeeper but the Anubis and Protectors help a bit. Hope I've been a little help.
By the way thanx for the ideas. They did help me decide to tweek the deck a little.
Also if you have time I have another question to have you answer on the same deck. Also if you've thouht of anything else for the deck just let me know.
Also below is a theme song from Nickleback for your deck.
Sorry this is so long. :) :surprised

From If everyone cared off of All the right reasons.
If everyone cared and nobody cried,
If everyone loved and nobody lied,
If everyone shared and swollowed their pride,
We'd see the day when nobody died.

Yeah, the Gravekeepers are a breed that works best together. I was trying to work around the GY almost entirely by using cards with summoning abilities that did not depend on the GY(Rite of Spirit is the obvious exception).

Breaker has eluded me so far. I would love to splash him into almost everydeck, but haven't pulled one so far. :disappoin
I am also thinking that 3 EoA is too many, but I would like to have another strong 1-trib monster out there. Not sure what I want to replace him with. Maybe a Gravekeeper's Chief is the answer. I don't care as much about him allowing me to use the GY since I don't have Premature or CotH in the deck, but the Marauding Captain effect could be very useful.
***I also want to keep the Hydrogeddons. I really like their summoning ability which won't be hindered by Necrovalley or EoA. My problem with Hydros is that they do not play well with Grave Protector since in order to gain the summoning effect they must send a monster to the GY. I may have to choose one over the other for the sake of deck flow. I could also add Don Turtle for the swarm effect, but with their low ATK and DEF, they would used only as tribute fodder or Creature Swap material.***
I like Brain Control, but do not have one of those either. BTH is a good addition, since it can eliminate the Special Summons. I may side deck a couple regular Trap Holes, though. Just in case I run into your deck, no sense RFGing cards to help you. :p Smashing Ground is another good addition. I prefer it over Dark Core because it is only 1-for-1 where Dark Core is a 2-for-1.

No problem. I like your idea and already added post and reply to your question. Hopefully I can get back to you tomorrow with news of how I did with my Fiend/RFG deck.
Thanks for the song  My mastery of music is not so great that can I find appropriate songs. Yours fits very nicely.
***Thanks for the help and I welcome all comments or critiques. I will especially value any input on my treacherous Hydrogeddon vs. Grave Protector problem. see above in bold***
Dude I like your style. Your one of the few people on this site that I would love to play face to face someday. Anyway Skull Lair is in my deck and will probably work just fine.
Don't worry about Breaker. Heard that in the new Spellcaster deck he's coming out as a common. So you'll be able to have one in every deck. :)
Now done to business. I have nothing against Hydrogeddon. Its an awsome card but I saw the conflict with Grave Protector right off the bat. Since I thought you wanted grave denial thats why I said to take them out. If you put in chief for an Anubis it kinda makes up for the inabillity to summon for Hydro. As far as I know, no one that I know has ever run Don Turtle. But its like you said it's tribute fodder.
What you do is up to you but for the sake of deck flow I'd take out the Hydros. For what is another good question. Mabey D.D. Crazy Beast. It takes the graveyard out of the picture but it is a little weak. Still stronger than Don Turtle though. And once that Inferno Reckless Summon comes out the Deck won't need Hydro. Althouth this is the unofficial card effect this is what I believe it does:
Inferno Reckless Summon
Normal Trap
You can only activate this card when you Normal Summon a monster with 1500 or less attack. Special Summon all cards with the same name from your hand or deck.
So in other words Gravekeepers Spear Soldier + Inferno Reckless Summon = Death.
Also if you add in a Magicains Cicle to support the Gravekeepers that extra summon takes the sting out of missing Hydro. In the end its up to you.
Thanx for posting on my deck and also using some of my ideas as well. Hope to work with you on my future decks and yours as well. Good luck with the Fiend Deck today and may Darkness fill your deck. :p
In addition I just posted my side deck as well so it may need some tweeking but see what you think.

For every winner their are a dozen losers, chances are your one of them.

I have been trying to work Hydrogeddons into a deck, but something more appropriate takes the space everytime. Hopefully, he has found a home in my new Dino-Alien deck under construction.

It will be nice to finally get a Breaker....
I like the new previews for the new Duelists packs. Some real good and real rare cards will be in the first two alone from what I have seen. E-Hero fans will love Jaden's and Machine and Armed Dragon folks should really like Chazz's.
Thanks for all your help and I am glad your Fiends worked out.
theres an older card called gravekeeper's servant, all the way back from either MRD or MRL... anyway every time your opponent attacks, they discard the top card from their deck to the graveyard. I know you want to stay away from gravekeeper's and all, but if your going to lock up their graveyard then it might prove usefull...?
Also, I would suggest swapping swords of revealing light for swords of concealing light, it can be nice to avoid nasty flip effects that way, and it lets you get in a quick kill for their monsters with low def...
I dunno if these two would do anything, but good luck running with this deck though its obviously a difficult set up...

I am just trying to stay away from a GK based deck that is running 12-15 GKs. It seems that is the standard build(and how they are meant to work, but where is the fun in that?). GK support is welcome and this will probably be at least side-decked. It is a good idea. There more I limit my opponents resources, the better this deck will do.

Thanks, I usually keep a SoCL handy, also. It doesn't neceassarily stop any attacks, but it can help get rid of those high ATK monsters.

Lol! Yeah, I never seem to do anything the easy way.
Thanks for the help and I posted in your deck, as well!
Sorry its taken so long to reply. I've been really busy. Anyway if you do decide to go all gravekeeper to lock the grave, I have a few Magicians Circles that I may be willing to trade. To bring out extra GK to kill to opponent would be good.
Also I've noticed that for the few cards that actually go to the grave you don't have any RFG. Obviously Soul Realease would be the best. Kycoo can mabey fit into the deck. Granted they conflict with Necrovally but one in a side deck couldn't hurt.
That's all I've got now. As for the Demonic Conscience Deck I've thought of nothing new. Same for the Dino-Alien deck. Sorry :(
Also if you haven't caught word I've posted a few new decks. Both expirimental.
They are Spirit of Exodia, The OTK of Confusion and Reverse Worlds by the Madking. I should be getting a little less busy later this week so I wil be able to reply more often.

I would replace an End of Anubis with a LESSER FIEND. Lesser Fiend is basically another version of D.D. Crazy Beast, only it has 2100 attack points and is level 5 instead of 1400 attack points and level 3. This would give you another option besides Gravekeeper's Cheif to replace one End of Anubis because you did mention that you wanted to avoid a gravekeeper based deck.
