Well, after a lot of thinking and observing what was being played not only in my home area (South FL meta pwns!!!!) but everywhere else, I believe I came up with a solid build and somewhat of an answer to a problem card, so here's the deck....



I have a feeling that it'll happen so I'll explain:

Getsu Fuhma - Spirit Reaper pwnage!!! Enough said!!!

3 x Enemy Controller - Stretching the mileage on Spear Dragon also my quick play version of Level Up!!

good deck, sure does look like it will win but i wouldnt call it a dragon deck exactly, i would call more of a horus deck with a bit of that s.c.a.m. thing what call it because ure using some of thoes cards that are in the standard deck, still a good deck though :)

Ah yes....I had a feeling that people would object to that card being in there. So I guess I'll explain why I picked Getsu Fuhma to be in this deck....

If you look around, notice how many people are running Spirit Reapers in 2s and even 3s. So what does that have to do with Getsu Fuhma? Let's say Spirit Reaper won't be on the field as long as they think it will....

Getsu Fuhma, excellent choice. It also rids the field of certain creatures living in light-challenges locales (Dark World).

I use the two Decree myself, as I only have two Controllers (one in the trade binder).

One question is why the Dark World Lightning in the sideboard? Seems out of place.

9/10 -- Great deck. Check out the updated Horus build, and I was in your area this past weekend, well in Miami anyway :)

The Dark World Lightning is only used against Soul Control and its selection of high DEF monsters. In a matter such as this, it's the reason for the 3rd LV6 in the Side Deck....

So, anyone else with rates & fixes??? I'd love to see what y'all think....

why? not only will drillriod get rid of those nasty reapers, but he will also rid the field of defense position dd monsters, tomatos, pyramid turtles, high def monsters, by his effect.

this card is necessary in a horus deck. i would hate to have your lv 8 attk my f/d ddwl or dda.

Let's see...

1 - Sure Drillroid gets rid of more than Gets would but there's no search card for Drillroid and all I basically run into is Reapers and really, who would expect to see a Getsu Fuhma?

2 - If your D.D Assailant or Warrior Lady does run into my LV8, two things would happen...

a) I wouldn't care since I really don't need LV8 to win all the time.
b) My Body as a Shield doesn't stop the effect of Assailant or Warrior Lady (can you say dead card?)

I must say that Getsu Fuma is a nice peace of tech that I've been over looking, I need to clean my glasses more often, lol, you might want to side another incase your begin to run into Spirit Reapers out the wazoo at local tourneys. I'm glad to see a Winged Kuriboh in your sideboard, the thing that suprised me was the Kuriboh running along side it. No one should under estimate either one of these little puffballs, Winged Kuriboh has save me more times than I can count on my fingers and toes. He is sort of my lucky card in my primary deck ^_^. Dark Realm Lightning seems alittle out of place to me too, but it does have a good removal effect. I really don't have a suggestion.

The thing is I was trying to debate which "Kuriboh" would be the better Side card and so to test it out, I placed both of them it....Consider it a "tryout" if you will.

Also, a lot of people seem to diss Getsu Fuhma without even thinking about how the metagame is right now...But it's okay though. Aside from keeping Dragons alongside me for 2 and a half years, I've been known to make the most unlikely cards work for me....

If I can NEARLY get a National Qualifier with no Cyber Dragons, no Mobius, no Reapers, 3 Royal Decree, 3 Spear Dragons, and 3 Enemy Controller, then this decklist can do the same....

It's too bad you are 2.5+ hours away from me. I think between the two of us we could put Horus on the map. Please tell me I can expect to see you in March (18-19) up here when the SJC rolls into town.

I followed your example and removed a Dust and The End of Anubis from my sideboard and put in 2 Getsu's, especially in my meta where people run reapers out the wazoo. This Sunday I expect there are going to be a lot of shocked people when I yank out Getsu with Reinforcement, ha ha ha. If I end up seeing more Reapers, then I will mainboard one for D.D. Survivor.

On a side note, why do people continuously beleive that My Body as a Shield can stop the DD's? The only commonly used cards it can stop is Exiled Force, Bottomless, Sakuretsu, and Torrential Tribute. I have only dueled in one match where I saw a Zaborg, and that was a fun duel. Remember, the DD Warriors remove from play, without destroying.

Yeah, I'll be testing it out this Sunday as well and to answer your 1st question: I'll be at SJC Orlando this March bringing insanity, drama, and tech as always.

If only I would have though of using Getsu at the December 10th Regionals in Orlando...Oh well...BTW, did you go to that one? If so how did you do?
