Its finally been posted ladies and gents, the spellcaster deck as featured in my article entitled "Spellcasters no longer need the ultimate magician". Lets take an in depth look.
The deck features three main search engines, with a myriad of others to make the deck's overall speed astounding. The main search engine is hard to decide upon, seeing as how the top two are of equal importance, but lets settle on Gravekeeper's Spy.
Gravekeeper's spy helps keep the field in my favor, as few in my meta bother with the sasuke style mosnters at this rate. Three of them ensures that at least I'll have something to defend my lifepoints, or touch my opponents if I'm in the offence.
Apprentice Magician helps get out either more apprentices, magician, or Hand of Nephthys (making phoenix searchable really). Monster destruction is also readily searchable at the search of an OVM. Truely, appy mage is the searcher of defence for the deck.
Lastly, the most versitile searcher in the deck is Magician's Circle. Literaly, the whole monster caste is searchable by this card alone, save phoenix, sangan, and Exiled Force. (the whole caste is searchable save sangan, oh the irony). What could be better than knowing that as long as both nephthys cards are still in the deck, any spellcaster you attack with could be a phoenix in desguiise? Opponent responds with scapegoat? Respond with magician's circle! They cant summon, and you can fetch that spear soldier to really give em a hurting that turn.
Pot of aravace can help set phoenix up again, reset all of the searchers, draw you something you need, etc. Brain control or snatch that other monster you need for hand's effect... the deck goes on for days.
I know it cant be perfect yet, as I seem to have problems with DD Assailant specificly, but RFtDD on a more general note. Is there anything to change?
You could try going the Strike Ninja route. It's fun and still pretty original approach to Spellcaster decks. It isn't like the deck would get all cookied up. Just use Strike Ninja, a couple Scout Plane, Dark Magician of Chaos, Cannon Soldier, a few Survivor, and a couple RFTDD and you're all set. Not only are most of your monsters Dark Attribute, but it just makes the deck more aggressive IMO. Just an idea for you to experiment with. =P
It's a good deck, but... Frankly this deck seems to be geared towards getting Phoenix out as quickly as possible. Your other monsters need support too!
It does indeed get out phoenix great, but phoenix is there to provide me with magic and trap destruction that I lack without a jinzo or mobius.
The other monsters have plenty of support with the three searchers. I've actualy been considdering taking out one of the magical marrionettes for either a GK Chief or a White Magical Hat.
I loved your article the other day about Spellcasters well thought out. The GK Spy's give you a great defensive barrier and they can search each other out which is a smart move, I was wondering why GK Spy's see alot of play, lol. I kinda like the idea for Dark World Lightning, the best thing about it is it can take out any facedown on the field. ^_^. This deck is all around solid and orginal, I like seeing decks like this ^_^. Keep it up.
