(If this looks familar it's because i posted this up at Pojo's as well)
This is my attempt at a semi-original, semi-competitive deck for regionals (The next one, this ones over and I missed it).
The concept is 2-fold:
1. Use cards that will give me an advantage for having no cards in my hand.
2. Make my opponent discard from their hand so we get into a 'Top decking war'.
I, however, am lacking the cards needed to make whoever I'm playing discard enough times. So, I post this as a rate and fix. Please help me get prepared for my first Regionals. I wish to make an impression. ^_^
I like this deck. I do see one big problem though. You've got cards that gain bonuses when your hand is drained, but they're all over the place in terms of effects. I'll try to focus it a bit.
-mechanical hound
-mobius
-2 flash assailant
-e hero bubbleman
-2 reborn zombie
-chiron the mage
-2 theban nightmare
+cyber dragon
+2 giant rat
+2 blade knight
+exiled force
+2 don zaloog
-a hero emerges
+sakuretsu armor
+bottomless trap hole
+torrential tribute
+call of the haunted
+magic drain
Let me explain my fixes. The number of monsters that you had that were only good without a hand was dangerously high, so I cut it down a bit. The monsters I left you with are probably the most effective out of the bunch (Blade Knight and Cyclopean (and Cyber Dragon...sorta). I added a slightly larger Warrior presense, so doubling up on RotA and WRA is a good idea. And as for the traps, since you normally set Traps when you draw them anyways, they'll work nicely in a deck like this that wants to have a low hand count. If you wanted to go nuts with this, you could have a very high Trap count, and you could also use Swift Gaia the Fierce Knight.
Hey, thanks for the reply! I'm glad someone can appreciate my ideas. ^_^
Changes:
- A Hero Emerges
+ Magic Drain

+exiled force
+2 don zaloog
Ok, I can deal with going for a more unified theme such as warriors. However, there are some parts I just don't see happening. 3 Cyber dragons? Do i really need that many? I also don't like the excessive number of traps. While I know Jinzo is rare in the game these days, I still don't want to take the chance.
Also, what do you think of Wildheart? He seems to fit nicely and could be good tech. Oh and I need a side deck. Could anyone help me with that?
