"I want to stay away from Toon Table of Contents for the time being." I love you for saying that! <3
Anyway, I'm still, personally, unsure of how well Circle's perform considering their ability to become dead draws easily with your hand emptying quickly due to Magical Dimension, however, I have yet to test-play the buggers so I'll leave it to you, no?
Circle is great unless its a top deck, in those regards Warrior Toolbox is still superior, but Spellcaster toolbox has the advantage of fetching 2000 attackers like Marrionette, and specialty cards like Injection, or Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier.
-2 blast magician
+1 Chaos Sorcerer (you're running perfect ratios to me...)
+1 Old Vinditctive Magician
I've been questioning the usefulness of Blast Magician. It seems like there are a lot of other things in the deck that do the same job and do it better. I think I might go with agentmage's fixes for the time being.
The only thing I'm worried about is having 3 Tribute monsters and 1 Special Summon. I guess I have to look at the amount of Special Summoning in the deck, Magician's Circle and Dimension Magic, as something that will offset this.
I'll try and get these changes in when I get home.
the only thing I see would be to - the 2 fissures and + 2 Rush Recklessly Be alittle bit of both offence and def.... Then that can be replaced with shrink when it comes out :)
JP, long time no see. I've been trying to find something to put in the place of the two Fissure, maybe I'll give Rush Recklessly a try. It's an old favorite of mine anyway, so it couldn't hurt to try it out.
Too bad Shrink hasn't been released in English yet. It would fit really well into this deck.
So I took JP's suggestion and swapped out the two Fissure for two Rush Recklessly. We'll see how they flow with the deck. I think they will help Magical White Hat to get a few more attacks off as well as some of the other monsters in the deck.
I'm not big on Skilled Dark Magician. Besides being a beatstick it serves no other purpose in this deck. I'm trying out Kycoo since he can at least give an added advantage.
I was in Newbury Comics today for my weekly shopping when I noticed the Spellcaster Starter deck was in stock. I quickly bought two so I could complete this build.
After rereading Magical Dimension, I've added Scapegoat to this deck. You don't have to tribute a Spellcaster for it's effect, you just need to have a Spellcaster on your side of the field to be able to activate it. Hellooooooo Scapegoats!
Anyone have any other suggestions to improve this deck. Now I just need my two Magician's Circles to get here so I can take my proxies out.
I might add Pot of Avarice or something to that effect to this deck. The one thing that it seems to be missing is a little speed and the ability to replenish your hand. I've played about 3 practice duels with it and so far Magical Dimension is the one thing I need to work out. It is best used to bring out Dark Magician of Chaos so you can break even on card advantage. Too bad he's restricted to one. It's not like you can still dump three in the graveyard, Monster Reborn one, get back Monster Reborn repeat to get back all three. It's too bad I never really exploited that little loop.
It just needs some sort of draw power. Maybe I'll try out Masked Sorcerer in here and see how it works. I like how the deck is coming together, I think with a little tweaking it can really be close to Tier 1. I know that might be optimistic, but this is as close to Cookie Cutter as I get.
With cards like WMH and Masked Sorcerer... you may want to look at mirror wall over a sak or two... you don't have to pay and it will make those lower atk monsters much more effective.
One other thing I've been thinking about testing out in this deck is Royal Magical Library.
I'm not sure how often I'd be able to use it's effect, but it seems like it could solve part of my drawing problem, as well as giving me a while to duck behind while I'm trying to gain back resources. Too bad this can't be searched out with Apprentice Magician.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this or on the deck in general? I appreciate all the input I've gotten so far.
So I was flipping through some of my cards tonight when the answer to all this deck's problems smacked me in the face.
- 1 White Magical Hat
+1 Morphing Jar
I think one White Magical Hat will do the trick. Morphing Jar will help to refill my hand after Magical Dimension and some of the other tricks in this deck go off.
Are there any other suggestions for this deck?
Edit: I'm not sure if this is going to throw the ratios of this deck off. I might need to find a way to work the second White Magical Hat back into the deck.
