Does Everyone remember the debate we had on Legendary Jujitsu Master vs Drillroid? The answer we were given at the time was that technically it still had battled, and skipping Damage Calculations didnt matter and Legendary Jujitsu Master would still get its effect. But thanks to this from the SOI rulings we just got perhaps it was all wrong...

If your Defense Position Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman is attacked by
Drillroid, damage calculation is not conducted, so Elemental Hero Neo
Bubbleman did not battle and its effect will not activate.

Yeah, I saw that and thought of the same thing. So apparently Legendary Jujitsu Master does not get its effect if attacked by Drillroid (or Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke if it's already f/u DEF and such).

Good to know...why wasnt "Hamons" ruling on the stickied link? wasnt he released too?
Cause Hamon's effects don't really need any explaining since it should be easy to figure out just by reading the card.
Descending Thunder Emperor - Hamon
Light/Thunder/10/4000/4000
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 3 face-up Continuous Magic Cards from your field to Graveyard. When this card destroys an opponent's monster and sends it to the Graveyard as a result of battle, do 1000 damage to your opponent's Life Points. When this card is on your field in face-up Defense Position, your opponent cannot choose your other monsters as targets of attack.
- Obviously, Continuous Magic = Continuous Symbol on it so no Swords of Revealing Light or Different Dimension Capsule.
- Monster must go to the Graveyard and 1000 "damage" so stuff Dark Room of Nightmare will work and such.
- Command Knight effect is easy enough to figure out.

Thanks half, I just thought they pt at least something up sicne they had the other 2 guys up there on the list which I though were much clearer than hamon.
Well, Konami hopes people can figure out the ease of some monster's on their own. Uria and Raviel, in terms of newer player's or people who never saw them before, are MUCH more confusing in text effect than Hamon is really...already got tons of people asking if <insert Trap Card name here> can be used with Uria...or if you could activate 3 Trap Cards in a chain and then send all 3 to the Graveyard to summon Uria at the same time and such like that....
i'd say that the jujitsu master's ruling is reversed, besides the fact that the ruling on neo bubbleman seems to apply, the old drillroid/LJM ruling seems to be gone, and chainsaw insect has the same ruling made for him.
keep in mind another ruling about drilloid is that he doesnt stop flip effects. Im sure they took that into consideration when makeing the other rulings.
that ruling was always there and actually made more sense with the old ruling than it does with this 1.
"battle" generally refers to having a damage step. flipping the monster face up happens in the damage step. so the concept that even though there were no damage calculations there was still a damage step, and therefore they did battle made sense.
although maybe now "battle" is only to refer to the damage calculations themselves.
I don't even want to get into this one, I do believe this will make a whoooole lot of chaos if Konami doesn't leave every removed/current rule involving Drillroid.
I'm sorry if this topic had been cleared up, but I read through it and now that last post confuses me. How can flip effects not be activated when attacked from face down defence with Drilloid and not have it activated because of this "Damage Step" arguement, when surely when a face down monster is attacked by any other monster damage step isn't applied and therefore wouldn't have 'battled' but the flip effect still applies?
I for one hoped that Drilloid woudn't activate flip effects, coz I really do like this card in my Machine deck. Could anyone clear this up for me once and for all? I'm really new to this game, and don't know very much. Yes, I am a 'n00b'.
You have to note that Drillroid stops Damage CALCULATIONS, not the Damage Step all together.
Monster's are flipped at the start of the Damage Step, but Drillroid's effect prevents Damage Calculations from taking place, but since the monster was still flipped, if it has a FLIP: effect, it will still activated since it was flipped.
They have FINALLY clarified things with "Drillroid" vs "Legendary Jujitsu Master"

Any clarification on this would be helpful.

Answer:
If "Legendary Jujitsu Master" is destroyed by the effect of "Mystic
Swordsman LV2" or "Drillroid," it will not have "battled" and thus its
effect will not activate.
