very good deck, i am too, making a insect deck, so this is pretty cool.
sorry i have no advice, since i havnt played with the new insects yet, so i need to try it out before i judge, but maybe take out the robbins for insect imitations.
So far so good with this deck. I think it still needs a lot of work. Im thinking about dropping at least one of the Swarms for another Pinch Hopper. I think a second Pinch Hopper compliments the deck pretty nicely.
Right now I'm just working out the timing of this deck. Being able to drop a Doom Dozer and a Chainsaw Insect in one turn is huge. That's 2800 + 2400 = 5200 in one turn, not a bad momentum swing at all.
This deck has a lot of things going for it, seeing as it has 5 monsters that can be dropped without a tribute and take out Cyber Dragon.
Feel free to make whatever suggestions/changes come to mind. I've been tinkering with this deck for all of a day, so it still has a long way to go.
There are two things I'm trying to decide right now:
1. Should I run a Swarm of Scarabs or 4-Starred Lady Bug of Doom. I think 4-Starred might end up being the better choice. Through play testing Swarm of Scarabs hasn't been running exactly the way I thought it would, though I can bring out out during my opponent's battle phase with Howling Insect, flip it down during my main phase, and then flip summon it to destroy my opponent's monster. This is the reason I see it edging out 4-Starred right now.
2. Should I drop the last copy of Swarm of Locusts or a copy of Swarm of Scarabs and add in Breaker. This deck is looking to do a lot of attacking, so Breaker probably makes sense. That said, Swarm of Locusts has a lot more synergy with the deck than Breaker does.
Any thoughts on these matters would be a huge help.
I can only find one of my copies of Pinch Hopper right now. I dont know where all my other ones went. I'll have to find one at the local card store on Friday night.
Does anyone have any suggestions to make this deck better? It's running pretty decent right now. The one time Ive been able to drop 2 Doom Dozers and 1 Chainsaw Insect in a turn to swing for game. I think this deck has potential to at least be a high Teir 2 deck. :)
looks good, the only thing i can think to try is maybe take out 1 chainsaw for a millenium scorpion. Note: while i am planning on makin an insect deck, i have not gotten around to actually building it yet.
So I really like this deck, but I still feel like it needs a little work. It's a little slow right now, but this metagame in general is pretty slow, so that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The two Magical Merchants do add a bit of speed to the deck. They are generally the things that I grab with Sangan and Gokipon.
I'm pretty sure Appropriate is going to be getting cut pretty soon. It just isn't working as well Robbin Goblin is in this deck.
I did end up adding in a Breaker on Friday night. It provided me with a huge advantage at one point. My opponent had a face down Spell/Trap, and a face up Don Zaloog. I flipped Robbin Goblin, summoned Breaker. He chose not to respond. I used Breaker's token to destroy his set Sakuretsu Armor, attacked into Don Zaloog destroying it, inflicting 200 damage, and taking one card out of his hand. That's a 3 for 1 from Breaker. Not bad at all.
Im not sure what else I want to change about this deck yet. I need to find something to take Appropriate's place. Any suggestions?
Alright. This is the last week of the format. So I've decided on this coming Friday I'm going to run this deck to end this format in a fun way. After months of running slow tempo decks, I'm going for something a little bit different for the format finale.
I added a few things this week to try and make the deck more consistant, with the big additions being Scapegoat and Metamorphosis. Scapegoat will help to stall after I've overextended myself :) Not only does Metamorphosis work great with the Scapegoat tokens and Magical Merchant, it also makes Doom Dozer into a Cyber Twin Dragon, and Saber Beetle can grab Ryu Senshi the rest of the level 6 gang.
Only a few short days now until this deck takes the tournament scene by storm! I really have no idea if it even has a shot, but it should be fun none the less. I'm still trying to decide what to run in the next format, this deck probably still stands a decent chance, it will just be kept in check a little bit more with Mirror Force hanging around.
I'm trying to decide if there are any other good Insects that deserve a shot in this deck.
Thanks Sacred King. Where do you play in the Boston area? Do you ever make it over to the Card Dog in Cambridge for their Friday night tournaments? I'm there almost every week.
Not sure if there is anything I'm going to change about the deck before Friday. If someone give me a really good idea I'll definately look at changing the deck.
I have no idea how this is going to impact the deck yet. I know 4-Starred Ladybug of Doom seems like a strange choice, but my local meta really doesn't follow the national game all that much. There are tons of aggro decks kicking around, so 4-Starred Ladybug of Doom could actually have a huge impact. I think it's worth trying out. It's the last tournament of the old format, I just want to have a little fun.
T-Minus 21 hours until this deck ends the format with a BANG! Alright I really have no idea how it's going to do, but I'm going to have a great time running it tomorrow. I think this deck can only get stronger in the next format. It just needs a little bit of tweaking.
