I phrase it like this because here in America, where the game is more aggressive, the deck probably won't catch on, but in Japan, where slow controls and locks thrive, it could become something. There's a four-card combination which, if drawn in the opening hand when you go first, will guarantee you victory. It's not necessary, but it's useful. The basic idea is that for any action your opponent will take, you have a reaction that will nullify it. 48 cards is fine for a devoted stall deck like this, I think, and of course I'm taking suggestions. What do you all think of it?
Monsters: 9
1x Morphing Jar
3x Raging Flame Sprite
1x Mask of Darkness
3x Stealth Bird
1x Breaker the Magical Warrior
Magic: 5
1x Final Countdown
1x Graceful Charity
1x Level Limit Area B
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Swords of Revealing Light
It looks like the deck that I made last year (and was stupid enough to make for the Nat champs also), and it actually won the nats, even with all the chaos floating around. Unfortunately he changed his deck to Warrior/Chaos at the worlds -.-' Good deck tough, maybe cut down on cards. 8/10
Recieved a complaint that the deck has too few monsters. It was in good faith, but they missed the idea of the deck. The idea is that you'll be able to destroy monsters with traps like Judgment, BTH, Divine Wrath, TT, and Mirror Force before they become problematic. (Don't know why he didn't just post...)
Well he can't add in another Level Limit Area - B, since this is an April 1st deck and the list says you can only run 1 of them, good thing stallers still have Gravity Bind to fall back on. Maybe scratch a Solmen Judgment and Spatial Collapes and add in 2 Messenger of Peace, because if it comes down to a Jinzo or Decree problem it can stop this deck in it's tracks, but MoP will give you some time to kill either of them off ^_^. Intresting deck idea, can't rate it though, I wouldn't know where to start on how it would work in a field test.
I actually axed the Messengers because they'd interfere with the Raging Flame Sprites, and I'm trying to keep my numbers down. MST and Dust are my Decree countermeasures, and Judgment and Smashing are my Jinzo countermeasures. They mostly work, one prevent, one cure...
Very good way of thinking Aqua, I didn't notice that little interference problem MoP causes lol, and I keep forgeting Solemn Judgment is a Spell Speed 3 more than capable of stopping Jinzo in its tracks, lol, it still a very intresting deck. I still wonder how it would physically works.
It's actually yet to be playtested, because I don't want to inflict this thing on anyone. Maybe someone could netdeck it, play someone you hate, and tell me how it went? I just... it's not a fun deck, it's just a deck that wins without regard for good play.
Aqua, I like this deck. Did you make it up or is this a deck that's actually played in Japan? And what is the 4 card combo you spoke of? I might try this out as it seems to counter everything.
I made this up, it seemed like the OCG players would like it since it's slow and overly controlling. The four cards are Spatial Collapse, Ojama Trio, Nightmare Wheel, and Xing Zhen Hu. It's no guarantee, but it's as close to a sure thing as I can create on turn one with the current bans. It works best if you've got another trap so Xing Zhen Hu can look at that, and be guaranteed to trigger.
Hey, I tried the deck out. I failed miserably against a deck with tooooo much monster destruction. But I held him off for a long time, controlled the tempo and got Flame Sprite up to 2100. I think this deck has potential, but I'd have to play it more to figure out what to do and when to do it, ya know? Based on irritation factor I'd have to give this deck a 10/10 because I really had the guy pissed while I was Solemning and Divining everything he trid to do. I could never use Spatial because this guy set alot of stuff due to anti spell fragrance. And you'll have to lower the card count. I say this because I had alot of turns where I was in total control of the board but just couldn't draw anything to help me capitalize on the situation. I'll try to pinpoint the key cards and combos and see what could be cut and I'll get back to you.
Please take a look at my Exodia OTK. I want to get your opinion on it.
Aqua, it is a very nice, interesting deck, somewhat similar to a burn deck I play. My sugestions for it would be -breaker, -1 nightmare wheel, -1 anti-spell frag., for 2 des lacooda and 1 swarm of locusts. I suggest these because you will have a constant self flipping draw engine which will greatly improve the speed of your deck as well as, for the most part, will be indestructible due to your mass negation. Swarm of locusts is better than breaker in this deck.
