I have 2 questions.

1. When i have skill drain face down and someone flips a monster with a flip affect can i flip skill drain and negate that affect.

2. When i have say Call of the haunted on a monster and my oponent flips that monster face down or i flip it down, say like its swarm of scarabs is that monsters destroyed ? Cuss Coth says that monster is only detroyed when COTH is destroyed. I asked 2 Level 1-2 judges and they said no it isnt destroyed but i wanna make sure.

1. As long as it wasn't flipped by an attack (Damage Step) and there's no other effect preventing you from doing so otherwise (Jinzo, Cold Wave, etc), you can do that.

2. No...the monster was never "destroyed"....it was flipped face-down...if the monster is ANYTHING except "destroyed" Call of the Haunted will NOT leave the field and simply have its connection to the monster broken and sit in the m/t zone meaninglessly. Likewise, if Call of the Haunted were to leave the field afterwards, the monster that was summoned by it will not be destroyed.

also from your title of this thread you should also know that call of the haunted is NOT and equip card. its a continuous trap card which entirely different.

the only equip trap cards are traps that actually say "equip" in their text, such as metalmorph, blast with chain, and hero ring. (infact i think those are the only 3, in the US at least)

Yep, they are...surprisingly...only things in Japanese that are like that is Kunai with Chain.

Some anime cards as well, but I won't get into that.

The other stuff merely "Target" the monster, but do not "equip".
