If thousand eyes absorbs Kiseital does the opponant gain LP.
What if it absorbs Necrofear? (Slightly more likely)

No...because they become equip cards by Thousand-Eyes Restrict's effect...not their own effects.

On Kiseital at least (Can't be bothered to look necrofear up) I can't find any specification that it actually has to be

The only way it can work is if it was attacked while in face-down Defense Position and equipped with its effect.

When your opponent's monster attacks this card in face-down Defense Position, the attacking monster is equipped with this card (damage calculations are canceled). Treat this card as an Equip Magic Card.
During each of your opponent's Standby Phases, increase your Life Points by half of the ATK of the monster equipped with this card.


Now I'd justify that, if part 2 of the card effect were essential (or even directly related) to part 1, then they would be devided with a commer insterd of a full stop.

During each of your opponent's Standby Phases, increase your Life Points by half of the ATK of the monster equipped with this card.

They're both part relevant to eachother...if it's just equipped by a card effect...nothing happens...it must be equipped via the first section of the effect for any LP gaining to occur.

yeah, when a monster becomes an equip card the only effects it has are those given to it by the effect that equipped it.

in other words when kiteistal equipps itself to a monster it makes it an equip card with the effect of causing the lp gain.

when relinquished/TER equip any monster by their effect they make it an equip card with no effect at all. they simply make it an equip card and then refer to the printed atk/def on it.

so the "by this cards effect" text isn't even necesary, just like the "when this card is face up on your side of the field" since your always refers to the controller, its always on "your" side of the field.

Also why they quit printing things like "Tributes made for a Tribute Summon of a monster or by another card effect is excluded" on the old text of Cannon Soldier, Catapult Turtle, etc or why they don't always put "This effect can only be used during your turn" on things like Exiled Force, Cybernetic Magician and such.

Because Konami feels they don't need to print such things on the card and hope people will have the common sense and knowledge to know things. Unfortunately...they were mistaken in thinking that when it comes to newer players or one's who ALWAYS try to find loopholes through everything (like people who say you can do something because it doesn't say you can't on the card)
