Just a question about the cards that can negate a Normal Summon/set (Solemn Judgment, Horn of Heaven, and Kickback). If they successfully negate that Normal Summon/Set, does that waste my Normal Summon/Set for that turn? Or - since I haven't successfully normal summoned/set that turn - can I try again? I'm just asking, because I was just thinking about Kickback's effect (along with its brothers Goblin out of the Frying Pan and Malfunction), and wasn't sure if you could retry the summon again, if it negates the Normal summon.

um...Im pretty sure you can't...since if it worked like that...those cards would be useless if you get your summon right back...i dont know all the specifics...but I know thats how it is...even though a card like solemn judgement says it negates the summon, the fact that you attempted to use your 1 summon per turn via game mechanics makes it so you dont get a second chance.
You can only perform 1 Normal Summon or Set per turn unless a card effect would allow you otherwise.
If a card effect would negate the summon, the game still "remembers" you tried to Normal Summon or Set already.
Just like how, even if you get an attack negated, you could still not change the battle position of a monster manually later that same turn since it "remembers" that it still declared an attack.
