ok my friend told me i cudn't do this but i think he's wrong. I had out two solar flare dragons with a divine wrath facedown and he had out D.D. Warrior Lady facedown. I attacked D.D. Warrior Lady and decided to use the remove from play option. I then activated Divine Wrath to negate that. He said i cudnt do it but he didnt give a reason

Yes, you can do that...D. D. Warrior Lady "activates" when it battles and even though it's in the Damage Step, Divine Wrath is a Counter Trap...
I wonder why divine wrath doesnt see more tech in decks now. It is a counter trap after all that can even negate and destroy monsters even during damgae calculations. Maybe it is the discard you have to give for it.
Basically, almost no matter how good the card may be, if people see "discard x number of cards" as a cost...they think you lose too much "advantage" and ditch it...when, in reality, it's actually a pretty even tradeoff in a way...
You use Divine Wrath and a discard (which can be made up for, depending on what you discard) while the opponent loses the effect that could've, maybe, won them the game AND the monster that used that effect.
I use it in quite a few of my decks since it can be used against almost every effect monster used in a common deck...and it's hardly ever expected either because those people think nobody would/should bother running it.
If you attack into there d.d. warrior lady and use divine wraith to negate the remove and in turn destroys warrior lady if they have no other monster on the field will the attack be a direct attack to there lifepoints.
Thanks! Wasnt sure since it says destroy the monter as well.
The way I see it, Divine Wrath is just about the only trap that can kill off the Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys, since it negates Nephthys's special ability to be revived after being destroyed by a card effect

Wrong. There are many traps that can do that.
Bottomless Trap Hole
Horn of Heaven
Solemn Judgment
