wow these cards kinda confuse me i see some pll have pole position in thre side deck and ive seen some rivalry of war lords but ive never really been against those cards can i get filled in on how they work

Rivalry of War Lords causes both players to remove face-up monsters from their side of the field until they have one type left "face-up". So, if I had Mobius, Breaker, and Don Zaloog face-up, I have a Warrior, Spellcaster, and Aqua. I have to decide which to stay and what two to go. I cant summon anything else except the type face-up, unless I tribute, but I can still Set monsters. You also would destroy the monster you attempt to take control of by Brain Control or Snatch Steal. After Rivalry has resolved, any other different monsters placed face-up will be destroyed till you get down to one type.

Pole Position basically makes a monster that is targeted by a Spell Card unaffected, if it is the highest attack on the field. It can be used Offensively or Defensively. When Pole Position is destroyed, so is the monster.

Target your opponents monster, then destroy Pole Position

i'm kinda confused by what you mean by this, since pole position does not target in any way shape or form. infact targeting isn't even involved at all.

pole position makes whatever monster (or monsters if there's a tie) that have the highest atk unaffected by all spell cards, they don't have to target. and if pole position leaves the field it destroys whatever monster(s) have the highest atk.

if i wanted to use poleposition in the way you speak of all i could just (assuming they had the strongest monster) activate giant trunade and chain pole position, then i could (re)set pole position to help my own monster.

That is very fun to do...especially when the opponent tries to the usual "Smash your monster and hit directly" scheme, lol
