My opponent has my monster on his side of the field w/ snatch steal and I have GS face down. I flip GS and my opponent plays TT....since hes playing it on the summon and not chaining to the effect of GS, do i get my monster back to my hand or is it destroyed by TT?
But when Guardian Sphinx is Flipped Summoned, that is a mandatory trigger effect, which would be link 1. Torrential is link 2. Resolution occurs backwards and all monsters are destroyed. Now Guardian Sphinx's effect takes place, but no monsters can be returned.
Guardian Sphinx takes place as SOON as it's successfully Flip Summoned. The same time when Mobius, Zaborg, etc activate.
So the opponent, essentially, is chaining to Guardian Sphinx's effect. However, the last thing to still occur is Guardian Sphinx's Flip Summon (which caused the effect to activate immediately at the same time).
So you would chain Torrential Tribute to Guardian Sphinx's effect, destroy all monsters on the field and since there's no more monsters on the field to return to the hand, Guardian Sphinx resolves without effect.
So can someone explain the difference between Mobius being summoned and TT is played and he still gets to use his effect before hes destroyed...and GS being summoned TT is played and he doesn't get to use his before hes destroyed

Both of them get their effect, who said otherwise??? The thing is that TT resolves BEFORE both of them, so what will you send back with GS if there are no monsters on the field? Mobius destroy's s/t so TT won't affect the selected cards by Mobius.
ok...my bad....so Zaborg wouldn't get his effect then?...or WOULD with no monsters left to destroy
As long as there is one monster on the Field (even if its Zaborg), Zaborg would resolve successfully. If there is nothing to destroy, then the effect disappears.
Yep...a way for that to happen would be if Embodiment of Apophis chained to Zaborg's effect, then Torrential Tribute...or Call of the Haunted or something.

zaborg would technically get his effect but there'd be no monsters left.
if a monsters effect is triggered it will always get its effect unless its effect is negated, or if the monster needs to remain on the field (and is removed or flipped down).
its just a matter of resolving the chain in the proper order.
Zaborg's effect is a targetting effect and is selected at ACTIVATION of the effect. Even if the opponent chains Call of the Haunted or Embodiment of Apophis, it will do nothing to stop Zaborg's effect.
