Any Trap Card that affects monsters in any sort of way will NOT affect E. Hero Wildman/"heart" (dunno why you'd consider this a "hard question").
Ordeal of a Traveler directly affects the monster (at least sending back to the hand does), so whether you guess right or wrong, E. Hero Wildman's attack will go through normally.
This is my first view. The card says when your opponant declares an attack you guess a card. it is not effecting wildheart yet. but when you return to your hand then it is targeting wildheart so nothing happens. That is good because your opponant must show the card so you can see what they have in their hand.
My second view is that since he not effected, then the trap won't activate in the first place. therfore you don't have to pick.
I really can't tell you an honest answer. I'm leaning torward my first view which makes a little more sence.

hope this gives a better understanding.
In order for the full effect to resolve, not just "half", the monster involved must be able to be affected by Trap Cards. Wildheart isnt. It's just like trying to activate Creature Swap with Horus LV6 as your only monster.

The first view is correct...Ordeal of a Traveler, as long as it is face-up on the field and active, will ALWAYS activate (if you want it to) in response to an opponent's attack, whether the monster is unaffected by Traps or not.
Since nothing about Wildman is "negating" or "preventing the activation" of anything, it will go through normally, but if you happen to guess wrong, then the returning effect will ATTEMPT to send Wildman back to the hand, but since Wildman is merely "unaffected by Trap Cards", it does not return and the attack continues as normal (since the attack was not negated nor was Wildman removed from the field or had its attack stopped before the Damage Calculations).

well you CAN use creature swap when horus lv6 is your only monster, it'll just resolve without effect. horus (and other things unaffected by spell/trap cards) can still be selected/targeted by spells/traps but won't be affected by them. this is different than if say mataza the zapper was your only monster, it specifically can't change control and therefore can't be targeted or chosen by any effect that would attempt to do so.
monsters that are unaffected by spells/traps do not prevent them from being used, they only prevent the part of the effect that affects them, everything else will happen as normal.

That was my point. It's JUST like using Horus and Creature Swap....
sorry, i thought you meant that the entire effect of ordeal of the traveler would be ignored. sorry my bad, then i guess i just gave a longer explanation.
