Yesterday I was dueling some guy with the dark ruler (demmings 2450 ATK!!!! ARGHT!) and he hits the treeborn frog, he says he negates the effects of monsters! but my froggie goes to g-yard, which activates his special ability! I´m like so mad! Does treeborn comes back again? I didn´t have set magic/trap cards.

Nope, Dark Ruler has negated the effect completely, same thing with Sinister Serpent.

treeborn does come back. when it exists in your grave yard it will come back. something can't be negated while its already in the graveyard. its effect going into the grave yard will be negated but once its in and staying its back to normal.

The first answer is correct. Dark Ruler Ha Des's effect can negate Graveyard effects.

The following excerpt is from the rulings on the official site:

If "Sinister Serpent", "Twin-Headed Behemoth", or "Marie the Fallen One" is destroyed by a Fiend-Type monster when this card is on the field, they will not activate on any following turn. So during your opponent’s next Standby Phase, and each of his/her following Standby Phases, they may NOT move "Sinister Serpent" to their hand, Special Summon "Twin-Headed Behemoth", and they will NOT gain Life Points by the effect of "Marie the Fallen One". This negation continues even if "Dark Ruler Ha Des" is later removed from the field.

The only way to get your Treeborn Frog back is to return it to your hand (like with Monster Recovery) or Special Summon with another card (like The Shallow Grave). Both these ways will "reset" the effect, so Treeborn Frog will regain its effect until it is destroyed by Dark Ruler again.

If only he was re-bornable.....but we will get a trio of LV monsters, Fiends of course with the same ability.

No, I mean that they should make him more playable by letting him be abused more than once. Since he can't come back when he dies, you've lost him for the duel, he should be semi limited.

The LV monsters = a lot more restricting than Ha Des so far...considering you have to bring them out via their previous LV's to get their effects...no Level Up! shortcuts or Tribute Summoning and such...

Even if Ha Des was revivable from the Graveyard, I don't think it'd make too big a difference...considering that the removed from play area is like "the new Graveyard" (which Ha Des CAN be Special Summoned from) with "Chaos" (Ha Des is DARK after all..) and Return from the Different Dimension in it...it'd only really be most effective for Fiend-users anyways. Even then...I usually see it removed for Dark Necrofear and used with Return from the Different Dimension.

He's not restricted in any shape or form because, frankly, he doesn't deserve to be...simple as that...he's just not broken enough or abused in any way to make him a huge danger to the game.


Of course, with the above posts...there seems to be a mixing of Ha Des and Frog...o_O
