Don't feel like digging through my pile to find it, but if I remember correctly....
POTD-JP024
Alien Grey
Light/Reptile/2/300/800
FLIP: Place 1 "Alien Counter" on one of your opponent's face-up monster. If a monster with an "Alien Counter" placed on it battles with an monster with "Alien" in it's name, the ATK and DEF strength of that monster is decreased by 300 points for each "Alien Counter" placed on it. Addionally, if this face-down card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, draw 1 card from your Deck.
I've got a few Alien Grey from the POTD sneek and mine say:
"......After this card has been flipped fece-up, when it's destroyed in battle and sent to the graveyard, draw 1 card."
Judging by that last line in it's text, I would have to say that unless it's destroyed while f/d (card effect) you will get it's effect.
Because flip: effect monsters are flipped face-up in battle, I would think that since he is now face-up and being destroyed you will get the draw effect.
But again, like Half said, we'll have to wait for rulings to come out.
Well, with that text, it sounds like it'd work like Spear Cretin
FLIP: After this card is flipped, when it is sent to the Graveyard, both you and your opponent select 1 monster from your respective Graveyards and Special Summon it on the field in face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position (no Tribute is required for monsters of Level 5 or more).
...difference, of course, being that Grey has to die in battle and not just sent to the Graveyard in any way.
Basically, if it's attacked while face-down and destroyed in battle, it would be flipped face-up by the time Damage Calculations come around where it would be considered "destroyed as a result of battle" unless, of course, it states by an effect (like Drillroid).
