Special Summon-only monsters like Rituals, Chaos Sorcerer, most Fusions (except for one's that say "This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon), once Special Summoned properly the first time, can be Special Summoned back from the Graveyard or the Removed From Play area WITHOUT having to fulfill their requirements again. (Unless they have a restriction saying otherwise, like Dark Ruler Ha Des does. And if sent from the field, of course, since if they get returned to your hand or Deck, their summoning requirements are "reset".)
So you do not need to use another Ritual Magic Card nor do you have to remove more monsters for Chaos Sorcerer. You can simply use Dimension Fusion, Return from the Different Dimension, Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted, etc to Special Summon them back.
Thanks Half, I believed it was the same for Rituals, but wasnt sure.

Yeah, right now all Rituals fit the "Special Summon-only" criteria since they have yet to make a Nomi-status Ritual Monster (one saying something like "This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of <Ritual Magic Card>."
cool, someone asked this question before I did...=)
just to wrap up your point, inu...
monster with a special summon only requirement can be from SS from grave/RFG if SS properly the 1st time.....However, if there's a restriction on the SS, like on Dark Paladin...they it can only be brought out in play ONLY by Fusion Summon. Am I correct???
Sorry if I'm repeating info, but I'm just making sure....being out 2+ years from yugioh is killing me when it comes to rulings...=/
However, if there's a restriction on the SS, like on Dark Paladin...they it can only be brought out in play ONLY by Fusion Summon. Am I correct???
If a monster is a "nomi" monster (meaining that it can only be special summoned to the field in one particular way) then it must be special summoned according to the way it is written on the card . . . no other way will function (there are exceptions like XYZ vs. Dimension Fusion but let's not get into that).
If Dark Paladin is sent to the graveyard, it can not be brought back with Premtuare Burial or similar cards because it can only be Fusion Summoned; and it is currently impossible to fusion summon a monster from the graveyard (as it can only be fusion summoned from the fusion deck).
ok...I think I got it now.....thanks for clearing it up, Magus....
where the hell did the term nomi come from anyways??? Been bugging me for a while now...
No problem.
"Nomi" is a Japanese term that means "only" or a very specific instance (as far as my understanding of the language goes), and it is actually written on card texts that deal with "nomi" monsters to show that they can "only" be summoned in their particular way.
It's a shorthand term given to these types of monsters that can only be special summoned one way. Apparently the word "nomi" means "only" but I cannot tell you what language. I only speak 5 languages fluently and nomi isn't in any of them.
What you're looking for to discern between a nomi monster and a non-nomi monster is the wording of the text. If the card says "This monster can only be special summoned by..." then it's not a nomi monster and can be brought back once properly summoned. If the card says "This monster cannot be special summoned except by..." then it is a nomi monster and cannot be brought back.
The ironic part is if nomi means "only," then the wording with "only" is the one that's NOT a nomi monster. lol
