I always log on to ask questions about the game and I fear Ive been absent a while so here is a few I need answered, to make up for old time sake.
1. Ancient Lamp - What happens if this face down card is attacked by something with a sasuke samurai effect - specifically Mystic Swordsman Lvl 2?
When it happened to me the other day we were trying to decide if it needed to be flipped face up before its effect activates - but it says when this face down card is attacked its effect activates, not when it flips face up. I also had to tell my opponent that using Mystic Swordsman's effect comes after you have declared attack so Ancient Lamp's effect activates aswell.
What we ended up doing was destroying my Ancient Lamp (because it was face down and Mystic swordsmans ability destroys face down cards) AND I made him attack another monster on his side of the field which destroyed Mystic Swordsman lvl 2. Was this the right thing to do at the time or was this not how to resolve these conflicting effects?
2. This is more of a reassurance than an actually question, but what do you think? When my opponent summons Jinzo - I know that Jinzo can be destroyed with traps, but they have to be traps that negate his summoning or else they dont work since Jinzo would then be on the field. So what I have been doing latly is using Divine Wrath to destroy my opponents Jinzo (and his Horus :)) when he summons it. Is that a good counter or what?
3. The other day we were having a 3-way duel. In the duel I used my Exodia Deck's Ojama Trio to cluder up both of my opponents fields (which by the way when I activate Ojama Trio in a 3-way, does it work on both my opponents or just one of them?) then one of my opponents used Brain Control to Steal my other opponents Mystic Swordsman lvl 6 and bring it over to his side of the field in order to activate Ground Collapse...... Now my one opponent has no monster zones.....but Brain Control's effect ends at the end of that turn. So does that mean that my opponent gets to keep Mystic Swordsman lvl 6 for the rest of the duel? (cause thats what we did lol)
4. And lastly I just wanted to say a little about my current combos with my Exodia Deck - Ive been an expert in my town loosing for months but then I made this deck and Ive barly lost. Besides the Ancient Lamp and Divine Wrath that I mentioned earlier, Im using in my deck this combo; Ojama Trio to make my opponent have less monster availability, followed up with Xing Zhen Hu - another trap card that makes my opponent unable to activate two of his face down cards as long as my card remains on the field (they hate it). My other combo in my deck that seems a little different than most Exodia decks, is my Summoner of Illusions to bring out either a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, or my Cyber End Dragon. Great one time thing to use - Last night though I decided Im going to try and use this is combination with a Blue Eyes Shinning Dragon - Probably something that not very many people see in an Exodia Deck. But one question I have on Blue Eyes Shining Dragon is that is Says it can negate thhe effect of spell trap or monster that designate this card....so it has to be the effect of "Dark Core - destroy 1 monster of the field" kindof thing. If they could play a Lightning Vortex it would get destroyed right?
Thanks for reading and it you have any insight please post.
These should all go in the Rules of Dueling Forum...
1.) As per the ruling straight from Upperdeck...
"If a face-down Defense Position "Ancient Lamp" is attacked by "Sasuke Samurai" or "Mystic Swordsman LV2", it will be destroyed before it is flipped face-up and its effect will not activate."
2.) You cannot use Divine Wrath on Jinzo...Jinzo's effect is a Continuous Effecty that has no Spell Speed that can be chained to since it never "activates". It is immediately "applied" (not the same thing) as soon as it hits the field, face-up. So as soon as it's face-up on the field, Divine Wrath CANNOT be activated.
Divine Wrath does NOT Negate any Summoning. It ONLY negates Monster Effects. The only cards that negate summons are...
Horn of Heaven
Solemn Judgment
Forced Back (Normal or Flip Summons only)
Royal Oppression (Special Summons only)
3.) There are no official 3 on 3 duels, but in your scenario, since there is no available Monster Zone for the monster to return to, it is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by game mechanics.
4.) Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon can negate any effect that targets it while it is face-up on the field...
Ex. of targeting:
Any Equipment Magic Card or cards that become Equip Cards

ok, I just called and talked with a representattive of upperdeck, a regianal champion (dont know name) and he said that Divine Wrath cannot be used on Jinzo so got that answered. Also the Brain Controling and then Ground Collapse will destroy the monster, but in the Ancient Lamp senario, Ancient Lamp is destroyed but I can use its effect too to make my opponent attack another target.
Now my question is how can I use a Divine Wrath on say a Horus the BlackFlame Dragon lvl 6 or 8...? I think I know but if anyone wants to give me an example Id appreiciate it.
Also I understand that this posting of mine could go in the Rules of Dueling, but I think the majority of the text here falls under the individual cards and combos genre thus I posted it here. Sorry if I was wrong.

1.) Dunno about the "representative part"...but you cannot use Ancient Lamp's effect in that scenario...the ruling I gave comes STRAIGHT from Upperdeck...
"If a face-down Defense Position "Ancient Lamp" is attacked by "Sasuke Samurai" or "Mystic Swordsman LV2", it will be destroyed before it is flipped face-up and its effect will not activate."
2.) The only way to use Divine Wrath on Horus LV6 is if the player chooses to send it to the Graveyard to activate its effect of Leveling up to Horus LV8. Otherwise, there is no way to use Divine Wrath on it since its "unaffected by Magic Cards" effect is Continuous.
You CAN use it on Horus LV8 if the opponent activates its effect to negate the activation and effect of a Magic Card, though, since that is a multi-trigger effect that can be chained to. This is why people tend to use Horus LV8 with Royal Decree or Jinzo; to protect Horus LV8 from such things.
3.) You're basically asking about "can I" and "does this happen" and such types of questions, which should go in Rules of Dueling. No real Strategies or Tactics being discussed.
People seem to mistake the "Card Discussion" part as anything having to do with anything specific.
Well I dont come on to this site very much because I dont come to be hastled about where I post. I try to go where I am supposed to and if I dont I get attacked? umm....I dont think so. I only posted my last post to let everyone know that I found the answers to my 2/1/2 questions and just to tell everyone what the answer was. If you doubt what I told you about the Ancient Lamp being attacked thing then do what I did and call 800-873-7332 - which is Upperdecks customer service - then hit the 1 button on your phone when it asks about Yu-Gi-Oh then when a representative of Upper Deck comes on the phone ask them about Ancient Lamp being attacked by Mystic Swordsman lvl 2.
The Horus thing you talked about is what I thought. Thank you for answering by the way. I plan on using Divine Wrath on lvl 6 when it attacks me even though I have a Level Limit Area B out. I know that he wouldnt be activating an effect of Horus but he would be acting on an effect and thus using an effect available to him, thus I think Divine Wrath would destroy Horus lvl 6 before the attack.
I am not going to post anymore after this because it has caused such a hastle just to say a few things. I appologize but I still think that this discussion is more about SPECIFIC Individual Cards and Combos more than about general trading card Rules and/or Rulings. Again thank you for responding so quickly, but I will not be responding after this post.
Just remember to wait and see if Horus LV6 actually activates and the opponent chooses to Level it up with its effect. Otherwise, there'd be nothing for Divine Wrath to negate since, as I said, being unaffected by Magic Cards is Continuous and Divine Wrath doesn't work on Continuous Effects.
