I was wondering if I have morphing jar on the field. I play card destruction then chain serial spell, and thus have no cards in my class. Then morphing jar is flipped, would I get to draw a new 5 cards or how would this play out.
Whether or not you do all that with C Destruction and S Spell (which you don't need to do), if you have no cards in your hand, you will always draw 5 cards with Morphing Jar.
yeah, morphing jar specifically says you and your opponent draw 5 cards, it doens't matter how many cards were in your hand.
and if you were trying to say that somehow you use card destruction, then serial spell (thus discarding your hand as a cost) and somehow using morphing jar to get 5 cards in your hand so that you would then have a hand to discard/redraw with serial spell and card destruction. well that wouldn't be possible.
it's not possible to have morphing jar's effect activate during the formation of a chain. and even if you did use something like desert sunlight to flip it, morphing jar's effect can't interrupt the current chain so it would just wait until after the entire chain finishes and then activate.
and even if you could manually choose to activate it, basic chaining rules would not allow you to since morphing jar has a spell speed of 1, and can't be chained to the speed 2 effect of serial spell.
and if that's not what you were trying to say then i'm not sure why you mentioned all that stuff about card destruction and serial spell. and i also wasted this time typing all this stuff.
They can have 0-1000000000000000 cards in their hand. Neither player must actually discard anything to be able to draw anything from Morphing Jar. In fact...both players can have 0 in their hand and you'd both still draw 5 straight out. (not until you're holding 5)
I think where the main confusion stems from is Card Destruction. Morphing Jar and Card Destruction have the same basic effect, but they do not respond the same.
Card Destruction can only be activated if the controller or opponent has AT LEAST one other card in hand, other than Card Destruction. The controller can have 0 cards in hand, but the opponent must have at least 1. The opponent can have 0 cards in hand, and in this case, the controller MUST HAVE at least one other card in order to activate Card Destruction.
Morphing Jar doesn't care if either player has any cards. If they do, however, they are discarded before your actual Draw.
