I'd play a Spirit Reaper over a Don Zaloog and try to fit in a Breaker somewhere, but aside from that I'd give it an 8/10.

I think that siding Chiron the Mage may be more effective than siding Mask of Restrict.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen a Royal Oppression.

Well, I do have Breaker in the main deck. The Mask of Restrict side is to negate tribute *Monarch Control* that should be a hint.

Don is awesome providing the hand control and also deck control. Awesome with Rush Recklessly.

Vanity Fiend is Royal Oppression w/o the payment cost.

I'd side the decrees and main the restricts. That way your opponent can't special summon or tribute summon. Good deck though.

yeah vanity fiend (devil) i have known about this card for a while and horn of darkness (counter trap that negates special summons). anyway here are my sugestions

drop
royal decree x2 (side deck)
don zaloog
e. controller/rush recklessly (which ever one you want to drop)

add
night assailant
mask of restict x2 (stops soul control in tracks)
confiscation (just for more hand control)

also think about side decking magic drain for soul control decks so that you can negate soul exchange or brain control. you already have treeborn negated with vanity fiend.

i thought about mystic tomatos and creature swaps for when you don't have a vanity on the field. for that drop all slates, one don, and one controller and rush; then add two tomatos a reaper, and two swaps. but that is only an idea.

I guess I missed Breaker. Oops.

I suggested Reaper as a Don Zaloog replacement because the Reaper can help you maintain field prescence long enough for you to summon your Vanity Devil. You don't have many means of special summoning monsters for you to tribute and that can often leave you without tribute fodder. You've got one froggy. Maybe a Brain Control would help.

I remarked on Royal Oppression because it makes a good back-up or alternative to having the Fiend on the field. Consistancy is usually a good thing.

Good Idea. nexis. Though I have one question. I like to get out the Vanity Fiend if Mask of Restrict is on the field. MoR is side for decks like that.

Terrorking I see where you coming with those fixes. Hmm I never thought of Night Assailant. Maybe I could main deck that. I see how it works with this deck. The other fixes I like them to stay where they belong main and side.

scapegoat: Thanks for the suggestion. Oppression is fine. Though I have a reason of running 3 Vanity Fiend's. Don stays for the compliment of using Rush on them.

Also I was thinking of dropping Ceasefire in my side deck for Deck Devestation Virus. Should I make that change. I also considering the Night Assailant as well. Thanks especially to nexis.

Has the same effect that prevents special summons, as well as by randomly discarding 1 card from ur hand, u can destroy all special summoned monsters on the field. only down side is very weak stats. protect it with messenger of peace and it should be able to stay out until u can trib it off to Vanity Fiend
and cyber dragon becomes completely useless, and wont be a threat to jowgen.

will allow the Dons to stay protected as well as the spirit reaper im gonna add. plus once u draw into the Vanity Fiends ull be able to resolve messenger of peace during the standby phase, and drop it. or force ur opponent to summon mobius or use mst, heavy, trunade early.

I saw some inclusions of Royal Opression in a previous deck of yours, so this comes to no surprise; myself, I like the tech. A Night Assailant would look pretty nice in the line-up, I think, but I'm not really sure what to replace it with. Btw, how's the pair of My Body as a Shield work for ya? I've ran it single before, but never in a pair.

Cyber Dragon abuse is going to stop with that. Granted you don't do a lot of special summoning, you can Definately keep out a lot of other monsters too, including the level up monsters and Cyber Stein with Vanity Devil. In most cases, Royal Oppression will work in case someone decided to removed the Vanity Fiend by means of karma cut or some mass Out of Game card.


Now I have to Question your use of Cyber Dragon here. If at all, why would you use it if your own card denies that privilage?

Now as per Mask of Restrict? I don't see anything favorable here, as Vanity Devil is a tribute you. Unless your going to play Cost Down, there isn't a need to use MoR.

I like one , maybe Two Slates here. Good Beatstick and now that NoC is back down to one, it is a good one to abuse. As Per Don Zaloog, I'd like for it to remain. What is more frustration than having a tribute monster in your hand and it gets sent to the Graveyard.

On that Note, Consider Teching a Kycoo, Maybe Two. Nothing Hurts worse than having a good card chucked to the Graveyard and Then it has been removed From the Game, cutting off viable options to your opponent.


overall, 8.9/10 for possible countermeasure to the meta.

he is tribute fodder thats it. he can't special summon his own cyber dragon with vanity fiend (devil) on the field anyway, not because of vanity's effect, but because he has a monster on the field.

i think that magic drain would go nicely in this deck to stop smashings (even tough you have MBAAS) and brain control.

This scenario won't happen everytime, but if you get Vanity Devil in your hand with Cyber Dragon and Mask of Restrict. You can special summon cyber dragon, tribute for Vanity Fiend and set mask of restrict. With Vanity Fiend and Cyber dragon being your only tribute monsters I don't think you'll have to worry about mask of restrict hurting you to much.

The only thing to think about with your deck is getting some protection for the mask. You can protect Vanity Fiend, but your deck is limited in ways it can protect your mask. Maining 1 or 2 solemns will help the deck overall. I have to go to work, but I'll try to think of some more cards that will help the deck out over all.

Chaosnewb: Cyber Dragon as stated by TerrorkingIV is usually can not special summon by it's own effect when Vanity Devil is out. The Cyber Dragons stay in this deck.

m0nky: The My Body As A Shield pair actually work very well. I used them to protect monsters esp. Vanity Fiend from possible Smashing Grounds. The Royal Oppression does hinder me a lot.
