The Chaos Factor- Stereotypical Halloween Themed Article
“Something Wicked this Way Comes”
Halloween. All Hallow’s Eve. The Night of Bewitchment. The Knight Where Dentists Make Enough to Buy a Boat.
Halloween is called All Hallow’s Eve because it is just that: Not a true holiday…or, at least it didn’t start that way. Halloween is like Christmas Eve, the day before All Hallow Day, which is followed by All Saints Day. Not for sure what that means…I think it’s the day where we celebrate Reggie Bush
…go ask your dad, ok?
Anyway, this isn’t a history lesson, ok? This is me doing what almost every magazine does at some point: Tell you how to throw a theme Halloween. What is that theme, you ask?
Seriously, you’re asking? Jeez…
Halloween and Yu-Gi-Oh! go hand and hand. Both have monsters, ghouls and other creepy things. Both deal with magic. Both have been called tools of the devil! They are like Pizza and Tater tots (Don’t make fun, that is a great meal and side dish)
So, if you would like to add a bit of Yu-Gi-Oh! fun to your Halloween, follow some of these tips I just came up with. Martha Stewart, eat your heart out.
Give out Cards and Candy
Have any of those old Legend of the Blue Eyes White Dragon demons and zombie cards laying around? Want to get rid of those weak little normal monsters that have been clogging up your binders and shoeboxes? Well, this is the perfect time to do so, my little friends.
You see, this works on so many levels. On one hand, you get to give out something really different. For the kids that know Yu-Gi-Oh!, they get a surprise treat. For those that don’t, they just think they are cool Halloween Themed Cards. You also get to do something nice for kids that might not have enough money to buy their own cards.
Or, you’ll get them addicted to Yu-Gi-Oh!…either works.
But, make sure that you still give out some candy. Nothing invites TPing more then not having candy.
Decorate Smarter
Lets face it, everyone does the same silly decorations. The skeleton hung on the doorway, Frankenstein’s Monster on the wall, ghosts made of light tissue paper. It gets old really, really quick.
Come on people, lets try and be a bit original!
I can think of several different ways to give a more Yu-Gi-Oh! touch to your decorations. For example, remember those skeletons you have hanging up all over the house? Why not dress them in ugly purple robes? Remember, Skull Servants are scary in large numbers.
And the pictures of Frankenstein’s Monster hanging around? Tape a few fusion monsters around him, and you have Cyber Stein! It can even be a game. Make it so 1 piece of candy equals 1000 lifepoints. Tell everyone to bring a lot of candy to the party, and set out your bowl next to Cyber Stein. Now, people pay 5 pieces of candy, and get a fusion card, which is their ticket into the party. Then, everyone eats the candy.
Want a scarier candy bowl? Break open a baby doll and call it Dark Necrofear’s doll. Pour candy in it’s back. Just…don’t use your sister’s dolls. She might get made, and nothing is scarier then when a little sibling tells your parents all the evil things you did.
And why bother with the boring Jack-O-Lanterns. Instead, I suggest getting a few pumpkin vines along with your pumpkin, and making a little yellow grown to go around its stem. Cut out a big ol’ mouth and beady eyes, and you have a Pumpking Jack-O-Lantern! Its original, it’s daring, and it is really, really cool.
Next, we all know that some houses like to play scary music when the trick-or-treaters come by. But I know I can only take so much screaming and rattling of chains before I get sick of it.
Why not do something scarier?
Record a loop of Tea’s friendship speeches. Play it over and over. Watch as people cry out in terror.
Food
While candy is all well and good, there are other treats and goodies to be had on the 31st.
What you will need is either some cupcakes or a large cake, frosting, and shredded coconut. Chose either chocolate (With light brown, green, white and black frosting) or vanilla (white and black frosting).
Heat up the frosting slightly, then blend the coconut into the frosting. Spread on cake or cupcake. Add eyes and, on chocolate one, green feet and hands.
Congrats, you now have a Kuriboh and Watapon cake!
Games
This is my crowning achievement.
Every party needs a game, this one is the best.
Go buy a bird piñata, purple spray paint, candy, and get some random Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. Stuff piñata with cards and candy. Then, spray paint in purple.
You know have a Yata Piñata! Or, as I like to call it…
Wait for it…
A PiñYata.
Take your frustrations out on this evil little raven.
Now, I need to go get my Brodie Bruce Costume ready. Happy Halloween!
ohhh...so long as were friends we'll always be together...Remember the friendship symbol we drew..The Ink may have faded but our bond never will..
There is nothing out there that is more powerful than our friendship..OoooOo
PinYata! LMAO!!! *wiping tears from eyes* That's a good one. You got some very creative ideas. Excellent article! I had an interesting idea. I'm sure I thought of this first, so It's my idea. I made a Halloween Deck! Very spooky. more than enough cards to make a deck out of.
*Displays it proudly, with Reaper of the Cards on the bottom* :classic:
good article. But as reading these, kind of for fun articles once in a while, it's now all the articles being turned into this. I miss the ones about playing the game XD
