I could gather my own conclusions from the three movie promos I have, but I could never be sure.

Do I need to have pyramid of light on the field to summon andro sphinx/sphinx teleia, or can I simply tribute summon them? Its obvious I need it for Theinin but I'm not sure I need it for those two.

No...note Andro and Teleia's starting text...

"You can pay 500 Life Points to Special Summon this card when "Pyramid of Light" is on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn that it is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned. This card cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard."


Special Summoning them via Pyramid of Light is completely optional, so you CAN Tribute Summon them normally if you choose to do so.

Also, you DO NOT require Pyramid of Light to bring out Theinen the Great Sphinx either.

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by paying 500 Life Points when both "Andro Sphinx" and "Sphinx Teleia" on your side of the field are destroyed at the same time; then you can Special Summon this monster from your hand or Deck. When this card is Special Summoned, by paying 500 Life Points, increase the ATK of this card by 3000 points until the end of the End Phase.

...note that there is no text whatsoever saying that you require Pyramid of Light on your field to Special Summon it. All that is required is for Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia to be destroyed at the same time (by a single card effect, not in the same chain).

That is it. Pyramid of Light just happens to be one of the ways you can achieve this.

Also should mention that Theinen the Great Sphinx is a Nomi as well due to the "This card cannot be Special Summoned except by..." so no revival for him from anywhere...


If you want methods for Theinen's Special Summoning...(destroying Andro and Teleia at the same time)...

On an extra note, Blast Held by Tribute doesn not need both of them to be tribute summoned. Just the attacking monster needs to be tribute summoned.

I know...just saying that either one needs to be Tribute Summoned in order for Blast Held by a Tribute to work...saying that it applies to both of them...not both having to be...
