Hi, im new to the game and i have some questions. Id appreciate if you guys could help.

Questions:
1. Boomerang states "return target permanent to its owners hand". What is a permanent?
2. Confiscate states "you conrol enchanted permanent". I need to know what this does.
3. And regarding counter spell. Can you play counterspell to counter a counterspell? Also to make sure,counter spell can counter everything but a land being played.....correct?

A permanent is any card in play. Any creature, land, enchantment, etc that is in on the table is a permanent. So Boomerang will return any card in play to that cards controler's hand.

You can also enchant your opponent's creatures. So you can play confiscate on any of his permanents, and that card is now under your control, and u move it to your side of the table. Very fun to do.

You can play Counter Spell to counter another Counter Spell because it is a spell. And yes, anything but a land can be countered.

All what I said is by the rules, there are cards that say "this card cannot be countered" or "this card cannot be the target of a spell or ability" so those could not be boomeranged or confiscated.
