Crusing about the forums, I seem to have compiled quite a confusing list of the current types of decks (and one or two Evil Crushinators of Doom deck-types) that have been floating around. Pretty much what i'm asking is that you verify this list of decktypes that i've found.
:) Rush - Charge in, bust shields, run for cover. Pretty basic.
:) Flood - Lots of mana = lots of creatures. Nuff said.
:) Control - Mess up your opponent's hand or field. He can't use what he can't hold onto.
:) Mono (Non-infectious) - One color, one strategy: Win.
:) Spectrum - All five civilizations working as one to achieve a victory
:) Evolution (EVO-CRUSHINATORS only) - Use EVOLUTION creatures to layith the smack down.
:) Newbie - Basically a doctored starter. Depends on Rothus the Traveller
If I missed or misinterpretated one or any of these decktypes, please tell me. I'm a little confused as to what is going on here at present in the deckbuilding, and i'm having trouble classifying my new deck (up soon!)
You forgot the Metagame Deck, a deck designed specifically to beat a certain deck or strategy. I don't think there are many of these yet, but they will eventually pop up more when the metagame is more well defined.
No, the metagame deck is not one but many decks that are designed to beat a specific type, the archnemisis of a deck.
For instance against monored with ucarns blue bounce is good, it causes them to waste their mana over and over to cast stuff. Monowhite against monored is good because it will stop the first rush of fast red dudes.
Really right now there is no uberdeck or top tier decks therefore no metagame decks.
I think the types listed above are wierd though. Spectrum??
flood and rush are the same.
*fiddles through notes* Never said this was a complete list of course. Whoever said that Rush and flood are the same things probably has a different perspective than myself, because i see Rush as a concentration on creatures and Flood as a concentration on Mana. Spectrum would probably be interesting to see at around 60 cards or so, but that's just a personal opinion. Let's see... Shall I update said list?
