Same here, I usually take it as minimum 1 mana per 1000 power but gigargon has only 3000 power which means 3 of its mana are use for power. That leaves 5 mana for 2 creatures back from the grave. I rather use 2 Dark reversal which each uses 2 mana for 1 creature.
now we all know that in order for silphy to be effective, she has to be summoned early in the duel, lets say that shes past that point and the majority of monsters on the field are above a 4000 ATK. then her special ability is almost a waist.
to me, Silphy is limited to the early part of the duel whereas you could always use two monsters out of the graveyard. Gigargon's effect can be usefull regardless of what stage of the duel hes in.
Silphy is better than Gigargon, hands down, for this reason: 2 Dark Reversal do the same thing as Gigargon, and for half the cost. That's why Silphy is better. (in addition to her effect, of course)
I, personally don't see the logic in presenting comparison threads when each and every card play different acts in one's deck. If we could get a clue as to what the strategy may be in your deck, then maybe you'll recieve more thought-based responses, where their opinion suits the meaning of your deck.

I play both of them in my deck along with two Dark Reversals. Like I stated earlier, Silphy is for the early stages while Gigargon is for later in the game.
This was a question of curiosity. I just wanted to see everyones opinion on the subject. To me I think they are equal in different aspects, where Silphy would be lethal in the early stages of the duel, eventually her well runs dry and she just becomes a 4000 ATK. monster that cost 8 mana. Gigargon on the other hand gives you the ability to ressurect that monster that you lost in the beginning of the duel. In the longrun, Gigargon still keeps is usefullness where Silphy pretty much becomes useless.
I wouldn't say she's useless late game. Most people only put a certian number of bigger creatures in thier deck and a larger number of small creature so even late game there is bound to be some small creatures that Silphy can pick off. If you destroy even 2 creatures, Silphy has paid for herself.
