yea i just picked up my copy, i cant even begin to tell how underwhelmed i am. At least i only have to buy one copy of the game now.....

That sucks... in exponential proportions... The Brain Serum might be OKAY, the Bronze Arm and Sonic Wing might be MEDIOCRE at best, but ANOTHER Rothus, the Traveler???! What's the effect of the dark creature? I forget what that one does.

I guess if you like having all the promos for a game, then you should pick up Sempai. I am going to wait on some reviews to see how the game plays before committing to the pruchase. Honestly, these are ho-hum cards at best--things you've likely pulled in your first couple of packs/starter. How many different foils of Rothus are needed in the game? Who uses Sonic Wing? Night Master...I'd rather have a foiled Marrow Ooze. Serum is a good card, but... and Bronze...don't life 50 of them come in a pack. LOL.

Hum...shows you shouldn't get your hopes up too high least you open your promo pack game to find...Night Master.

I had to intervue a nurse, so I wasn't online for a bit here. :)

The holographics are done with a different process than your standard holo-foils. The entire card is holographic with the printing on top, but there is no added foil on the numbers, etc.

They look cool in direct sunlight, but are not very nice looking in low light areas. They seem to be a little more colorful (in bright sun) than the other holo-foils, but not nearly as reflective overall.

BTW, there's an Atari logo in the middle of the text box.

Yeah i figured it would be holo version of existing cards but not stuff you could get out of the starter deck.

I would've liked at least holo versions of uncommon evos, like Crystal Lancer and Larba Geer. Even a holo Rumble Gate would've been better than Rothus...

Well i can see the point of Bronze arm tribe [Thought it may have been Mighty Shouter tho], Brain Serum at a push [ Crystal Memory/Hulcus where my guesses] but the others are unbelievable. Sonic Wing ? [Holy Awe surely], Rothus [like we need another 1, hands up who hasnt got at least 5 of these yet - would have liked to see something like Braid Claw, Ucarn, Hammer ] and the most mystefying of all of them .... Night Master. I use darkness in every deck i make, and i still cant find a place for this guy, i think Squito, Reversal, the 2 worms, Bone spider, Bone assassin would have looked better - and been of more use than the shadow of Decay [oh such a true name]. Well some people posted about Ligers, Snipers etc being the promos, how far from the true could those have been. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing.

If you pre-order the game do you get different cards?

I gotta say im at least happy that I dont have to run out and buy anymore copies of the game to get the promo. Also the guys at the store were pushing some of the upcoming duelmasters titles at me, meaning these will more likley than not have promos in them as well. It would have been nice if at least they were all rares, but a foil common is still a common.
