Ok guys I made a Red/Green rush,it's pretty good so far.Trouble is it has problems defending itself from other rush decks and just attacks in general.I have things like Rothus',Natural Snares,T.Flames,etc.BUt I can't seem to deal with a flurry of attacks. For instance I faced another rush deck, and was able to stop much of his threats but, still lost shield after shield,I barely pulled through for the win by Usings Ucarn and Evos to fight back.Luckily I took out his last 3 shields in an all-or-nothing attack(since he played light as well, meaning holy awe)Which brings me here,is there anyway to defend myself from this problem?Nature nor fire has no blockers so I need other ways.any suggestions would be appreciated.
well, rothus nat snares t flames, all have a fairly high cost compared to rush creatures, so there is no way that you'll keep up with the flood of incoming creatures, only hope for a rush deck that i can think of is...... rush them faster than they rush you. <_<
Crimson Hammers work well against other rush decks. You can also use creatures like Curatops to kill off creatures although I don't know how well that will work since he's kind of weak for his cost.
crimson hammers are great to have vs. weenie. actually, any cheap removal can be effective. that uncommon from evo that kills all creatures with power 2000 or less is like a Wrath of God for the game.
Oh yes, Burst Shot, it has a shield trigger and everything and costs 6 mana to kill everything 2000 or less... Too bad it would kill you too though. If you could get a couple Rothus's out and kill your weenies, then use this on his weenies, that would help. You run fire/nature, so it wouldn't take too long to hard cast it either.
Crimson Hammer--a good bet for vs rush matches even tho not a trigger--b/c it's cheap
Burst Shot--would hurt you, but as Kenshin pointed out if you cast it in conjuction with a Rothus setup then it could pay off. If it goes off as a trigger, at least you get the jump on re-casting creatures.
The other spells mentioned are good too. Rumble Gate being seriously underestimated in a rush deck. It could help you since you have mana gain (assuming). Better than the General because all your guys could attack any creatures and with a boost to boot.
Yes Rumble Gate has worked pretty well for me so far.I still haven't gotten a chance to see Burst Shot used well. But it was used to good effect on me by another rush but not without nailing them as well.It provides a pretty good opening for my larger creatures though(Ucarn mostly)
In a rush vs. rush scenario, Rumble Gate would be like resetting the duel. The only thing that isn't changed is your hand, mana, and shields. Basically, it's as if you got the chance to start over with your set amount of mana in play already and GO FIRST!!! You would be able to set up most of your rushers first and then set up for some clearing like Hammers, Flames, and Rothuses. In other words, it deals with both players' creatures, unless you have something big already out. Then you would get a HUGE advantage(especially with a high powered double breaker or evolution out.).
In Rush vs Rush with Rumble gate you will probably be clearing your opponent's field. You will both have similar creatures so the 1000 power boost should be enough to take out whatever your opponent has, plus most rushing creatures have Power Attacker which would make it easier.
ccgman, you got Rumble Gate Confused WIth Burst Shot.Wel anyways,I got a chance to use Burst Shot against my lil' bro.Once as a trigger ,2nd I cast from my hand.He used a Nature/Light with Blockers and Nature weenies.Burst shot cleared out his manes and tribes, whilst picking off his pesky blockers as well.So I'll keep it for now,thx for the help. :)
