I'm jsut curious to see how DM is doing in your areas.
In my area it's basically dead. The local hobby shop doens't even sell packs anymore. There are 3 people other than myself that play, and that's it.
Let's see. I live in a one horse, jerk water, god forsaken, piss poor town. I know at least 2 other people and I'm sure there's a few more. I have some friends in other towns that play so it's not doing too bad. Still need to spread the word though.
Because I'm basically in two areas, NYC has pretty strong support in the stores but tournaments are not as plentiful. In fact the only venue in the five boroughs that has been holding regular tournaments is Neutral Ground. Unoftunately they hold those either in the day time or weekends when I'm either working or at home in North East PA. As for NE PA, in my town/city, it is only carried in the toy stores and Wal-Mart and the only tournies are at Toys R Us and that draws maybe one or two other players and that's it.
Well around here, too many people play yugioh, and barely any have heard of DuelMasters. we have a oturney every 2 weeks, around 7-8 people come every time, well hey its a new game, it will grow.

What about you guys? Any luck?
Almost exactly like yours, except places like Walmart still sells packs. My local store does not hold ANY tourneys but still sells a few packs.I have to drive atleast an hour to TRU on Saturdays at 9:00 to even play.So it's pretty hard for DM over here.I live in IL btw.
There's almost no community to speak off. The last time I went to the card shop, there were about 5 DM players including me. I haven't been to the shop all summer so hopefully when I go Saturday, things will have picked up.
Well everything usually starts small right especially with other TCGs to compete against. When my local card store started holding DM tournys, there were only 4 people the first time round. They even stopped holding tournys for awhile cause of the small turn out. But after more people bought they started again and the numbers slowly grew from 4 to 5 and to an amazing 10 and then now over 20 players.
Well right now, Ygo and Magic are the biggest things down in my area. i think that DM is getting there, but my only hobby sotre wont restock their order for DM, which sucks. but im hoping that dm gets big by aleast christmas!
yea like jdrummer said. no body around here plays. the only person i play again is jdrummer since he is my brother. but he is getting a friend into it i think. and then ill finally have some one else to duel!
Yea Yu gi Oh and MTG are still big in my area. VS just started and I only know a few people who buy it. I still remember before DM came out I went to buy some MTG packs and dropped by the place where the tourny took place (Contagion fyi there was another place where they held tournys at the time) the entire place was mainly Yu gi Oh players. MTG was so little compared to them and Pokemon was kinda dead there at the time. The store was always sold out of Yu gi Oh too. Now after DM has had sometime to settle in, with Evo out. When I go on non tourny days sometimes I don't see any sealed boxes for sale. Which means it should be selling good. Sometimes I go to a mall near me and visit the card store there, I see a bunch of little kids buy DM. I once overhead one kid say "Buy DM, its not as expensive as Yugioh" lol
Sadly, only 5 or so of us play DM in our area. It sells good, just no one shows up to play. Really sad. And all the players who do play, there are only 2 of us that actually know how to make good decks:( Not much of a challenge and it's really frustrating. I could playtest a deck as much as I'd like, then I play someone online and lose. I hate it.
I'm sorry for the hi ppl post. My sister got on here and just started typing to piss me off! At least some of you have some store to play at or buy from. Our towns biggest buisiness is a local grocery store. I'm trying to talk a few friends into it.
