With Rampage out, I've made a couple of small changes to my monoDARK deck. It seemed to be working fine except for one annoying problem - it tended to start topdecking around turn 5 or 6 . . .
4x Marrow Ooze, the Twister
3x Bloody Squito
3x Gray Balloon, Shadow of Greed
2x Wailing Shadow Belbetphlo
2x Jack Viper, Shadow of Doom
4x Horrid Worm
2x Hang Worm, Fetid Larva
2x Chaos Worm
2x Ultracide Worm
2x Critical Blade
2x Dark Reversal
4x Ghost Touch
4x Death Smoke
4x Terror Pit
. . . Since it seemed a bit dry, I gave it splash of water.
4x Brain Serum
Now, it seems to work well, but there aren't too many Rampage-enabled decks up and running, in my area, to compare it to. So, I'm asking for feedback. Thanx.
I like it, and despite what DM GiRl says, I think you can sucessfully run both evo types. Actually, once more evos start coming out, you'll probably have to.
DM Girl: You may be right (I've certainly thought about it). But I was already using the Ghost blocker and adding 2 of the Ghost Slayers fit with my play-style. So, going with Jack - in addition to the Worms - seemed natural. Now, I may pare down the worm evo line and make my deck less dependant on them by eliminating Ultracide, but I really love the destruction of Chaos. If I got rid of the big worm, then I'd put in a different, non-evo, fatty like Zagaan, Deathliger or Griel.
Nice, clean build, Tetirs. But in my local area, our games go on for awhile and I'll need something with more firepower than 5000 to be competitive. Maybe if I put in 2 Ultrcides for 2 of the chaos worms. I'll think about it while I'm at the islands this afternoon. ;)
not to crush an evil genius but, what's with the sell-out no demon command or dark lords, not even 1 living dead?
+ water cards? lol say hello to hedrians
not to crush ur spirit or anything i see it about 7/10
I like this deck. You just need to max out the things most important.
and Yugishobuman - not every Mono-Dark deck needs Demon Commands, Dark Lords, or Living Deck. They arent staples for MOno-Dark but they are good. But for this deck in particular his focus is Worms and Ghost.
You look like you're on the right track Mason. I like the build that Tetirs suggested, so I recommend that being one that you try out. And in response to yugishobuman, this deck seems to be more about control rather than raw power which where quite a few of the good demon commands fall into place. That's my two cents.
I'll answer a comment made above. As far a Dark Lords are concerned, Silphy is the only one I ever use (since I'm not into freely giving up shields), but it's a bit more costly than I like. And, like I said above, if I thin out the worm line, I will use a Demon Command (Deathliger, Zagaan, etc.). And there are no effects available with Living Dead creatures that I don't already have in my deck.
