I guess I'll start a series like this. There are quite a few shield triggers out there now, and I want to know. Which one do you think is the best?

Shield triggers like Solar Ray and Holy Awe can tap other creatures. Yay, unless you're playing a deck with no blockers. Then all you can do is attack other creatures. Which is fine, but I think that's annoying.

Then you've got shield triggers that focus on power and instant KOs. Terror Pit, Tornado Flame, Burst Shot, all focus on power. Overrun your opponent. The only weakness is if an opponent has too many creatures, then they'll overrun you before you can kill all their creatures.

Finally, we have card-related triggers. Some that help you search your deck, like Dimension Gate and Logic Cube, or the ones that destroy other players' cards, like Ghost Touch. But does this sound familiar: "O.K., I'll use Dimension Gate to search for that Roaring Great Horn. Da da da da...wait....no, it must be in my shield zone! Darn, I guess I'll just take Bronze-Arm Tribe..." And if your opponent has no cards in his/her hand, then you can't exactly destroy a card.

Post what you think is the single best shield trigger. (Too bad Death Smoke isn't a shield trigger...)

Nature - Natural Snare, Mana Nexus, Torcon & Dimension Gate
Water - Brain Serum, Spiral Gate, Aqua Jolter & Crystal Memory
Fire - Tornado Flame, Volcanic Arrows & Kamikaze, Chainsaw Warrior
Light - Holy Awe, Logic Cube and maybe Full Defensor & Kolon, the Oracle
Dark - Critical Blade, Terror Pit & Gregorian Worm.

I know I might be missing 1 or 2 but those are probably the most common played Shield Triggers

The Shield Triggers I like the best are Terror Pit and Holy Awe.

I think this has been posted somewhere, but im not sure.

Anyway, the debate of the best st has always been over Terror Pit and Holy Awe. Even with all the new sts, these are still the best. Holy Awe has been winning for sometime though, and my vote goes for Holy Awe.

I'd probably choose Awe over Pit too. There's just more you can do with Awe since it affects all of your opponents creatures, not just taking out one.

I agree with Mohamed on this one. Though a personal favorite to pull off of mine is Spiral Gate, Holy Awe and Terror Pit dominate. Though, if I were to lean against one or the other, my vote would fall under Holy Awe. The reasons are obvious :P

I pick the Awe. Because it's a defensive powerhouse, that can lead to a counterattack.

Holy Awe saved me when my opponent had a full field and I only had 1 shield left. I don't remember who won but that helped make a major comback for me.
