When I bring my best decks to the table the most "bummer" way that I lose is through my own costly mistakes. If I'm matched with an equally good deck and player then it will come down to how we each play. In that matchup, the winner will be the player who makes the least amount of mistakes and/or the player who is able to capitalize on his opponent's mistakes.
More specifically, I lost my shot at top 2 at Indy due to some admittedly bonehead mistakes involving forgetting about one of my opponent's creatures. I topdecked all my answers and my shields provided me with 3, not 1, but 3 ways to win. You couldn't ask for a better setup. It was ungodly. But, silly ole me forgot to take a step back and evaluate all my options. I got a bit greedy--something that happens when I lose my concentration. Because, up until that point, I played my deck and my opponent nicely--displaying just the right amount of conservative and aggressive plays. Simply put, I blew it big time and that was my worst loss--and it was also the best match I've had in this game so far. Great games aren't always the ones you win. That's for sure. :D
So, when I make dumb mistakes, it's the worst way I've lost. I guess for players nothing stings more than knowing that your deck has the goods to beat the deck you've lost to and it came down to you having played yourself right out of the winner's spot. It's a different story if your deck never had a chance than when it does and your mistakes are the reason you lost.
I can't imagine ever feeling humiliated by a loss. Why would I invest that much of my sense of self-worth into a card game?
That being said, I dislike losing when it's because I've played stupidly, or badly. Although those are the times when I learn to play smarter, and better ... so I don't really mind at all.
