I wouldn't say "incredibly" rare -- I saw one pulled from a Base Set pack and I personally pulled one out of a Evo-Crushinators pack (mine was in place of my rare). This occurred within the same store. I think I've seen at least 2 dozen others say they pulled a blank card on the various online forums.
I haven't many posts lately (maybe they fixes it in the later sets -- or maybe less people are buying the cards - and therefore it statisically happens less often).
As for value, it'd be worth more to have a printed front and a blank back -- as it is, no one can tell what set it came from. It'd even be better if it had a DM back and a MTG front.
Unfortunately, blank card is not equal to a lottery win.
Man, do why these things never happen to me? The closest thing to weird I've gotten in this game is a pack with no rare, and that just makes the pack close to worthless.
I've got one of the Light Berserkers with its creatures type spelt Beserker. I also notice on the official DM database its spelt Beserker. And every other one is Berserker. It's Kulus, Soulshine Enforcer BTW. Is every copy of that card mispelt like that?
Mistakes in cards and error cards are completely different to me. I've got tons of cards with mistakes. Take Aqua Surfer for example. They don't explain the shield trigger effect. I'm always noticing these things cause I put the cards in set number order, lol.
I do too, but don't usually notice these things. lol.
Two odd occurences have happened to me:
1. I ordered 2 boxes of Rampage recently so my friends and I can private draft with those, and other various sets. In one of the boxes, there were 23 paks! (as opposed to the usual amount of 24)
2. My friend and I opened a pak of base that contained two fear fangs.
I too have gotten some of these cards that some may be call "misprints". Once in a pack i got 4 cards that had sharp corners on the left side of the card and the right side had cut corners. If you put these cards in a stack, they look exactly like the corners for the puzzle cards.
One of the guys at my store pulled a Blank Card from the tin (it was where the shiney light card was). It is blank, except for the black border. Pretty cool really.
I've also pulled a pack with no rare card before too. Mistakes happen.
