Okay, I think they over-reacted a bit with the new rules.
I think the fliers can't carry fliers would have been enough.
I understand the object of the NAAT is to eliminate the "free running shot/charge" but to do that you still needed 2 actions (or a flyer with a free move ability).
Maybe in the next version they will reverse some of these extreme changes to a middle ground.
The NAAT keeps poping up as many people are unhappy with it. IMO I like it only because I can no play a game with out having to say "nuts, I need a flyer" I now play teams with out flyers and win with them.
"....Okay, I think they over-reacted a bit with the new rules.

Personally, I think the new rules are just fine on this subject. It took away from major cheese armies (though there are some cheese armies still left lying around), and in the same instant, made almost 75% of the figures collecting dust in peoples collections viable contenders for tournament teams instead of the usual 15% everyone was forced to use, to have at least a shot at winning. I have seen more people actually enjoying thier matches at tournaments with the new rules. To me, that's what it's about, having fun with characters you enjoy.
"....NAAT stands for "No actions after taxi." it means that when your fig is taxied, it can't do anything that turn except for power actions...."
They are only allowed free actions, such as outwit, perplex, and so on.
I do not understand how anyone could think FCCF would be a viable option to NAAT.
FCCF guaranteed the implementation of NAAT.
There is no way to balance out the value of Fliers versus Grounded figs if one could be carried and still attack and one couldn't.
People whine about a fig or two who can't be used as effectively under the current rules - can you imagine the outcry if there only was FCCF. Goodbye any and every high-priced flier without Charge or Running Shot.
Who in their right mind (in tourament play) would use Apocalpyse, Firelord, the upcoming Terrax, Firestorm, Thanos, Magneto, Ultron, Mandarin, etc - when they could simply strap a Doombot, Vulture or Wasp on the back of Cyclops, Bullseye, Green Arrow, Batman, Klaw etc - and have a figure that could move 8 - 10 spaces and still attack.
For or against NAAT, it doesn't matter - and I understand if someone didn't like FCCF AND NAAT - but there is no way this game could/would/or should ever have FCCF without NAAT. For any figure without free movement or low cost, flying becomes just a hindrance.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Originally posted by averykess It's not that I am unhappy with NAAT per se, but I think that Wizkids should have chosen either NAAT *OR* fliers can't carry fliers.
Naat is good, before you were penalised for having a ground character on your team. Hindering terrain actually affects you? LOSER! HAHA Only a handful of nonwinged ones could actually be played even in casual games(healers, ranged shootas) Now at least with a stealth invasion from indy, ground figs have some uses. NAAT didn't hurt the big flyers too much either. Now they can zoom past zones of control and totally mess up a players support figs. Having thor pounding your perplexers WILL screw up your game plan.
What does the Hulk do with bad butt juice? He unleashes his limitless RECTAL RAGE!!
I like both FCCF and NAAT combined. Really, if one had to go, I'd pick FCCF. I've seen GL carry other fliers plenty of times.
Why do I like NAAT? Well, it allows me to position my team and have a much better chance of predicting what I'm exposing them to attack-wise. My opponent can't taxi in from anywhere and pounce all over my team. I can look at his positioning and place my team to maximize my effectiveness while minimizing his. It really adds to the strategy element of the game.
At first I hated the NAAT rule, I thought the FCCF rule was a good idea, but when I saw the NAAT I darn near ####e myself but, now after playing with it these last couple of weeks, the game has become much more a fun & strategic game in truth then it ever was before. I have more fun making teams and fielding them, and the competion is more fun now too, no more sitting down across from the same Black Panther/Wasp/Firelord loser who thinks hes really smart, but in truth he simply has no imagination and doesnt understand the concept of fun or strategy. Kudos to WK for havin the grapefruits to make the game much more involved. I was getting tired of wasteing 30-40 points on a click thats only purpose was to haul my other boys around anyway. Hey, between NAAT and the new Pulse Wave rule, maybe my MoE team will finally work ! Yay !
