What if you where to have a gigamantis and an Obsidian Scarab out at the same time? well once your opponent killed you scarab he would go to the mana zone right? Well then Obsidian Scarab would be sent right to field again! Pretty cheap huh?
One flaw to this combo is if gigamantis dies you will need another to come out...

this has been posted soooo many times...the card says "when this creature is destroyed" do xxxx. Being sent to the mana zone is not being destroyed and therefore, the combo does not work.

This doesn't work because Gigamantis prevents destruction of your Nature creatures and its effect is mandatory. As such, your Nature creatures are not destroyed with Gigamantis in your battle zone even if you want them to be because they are sent to the mana zone instead of being destroyed. Obsidian's effect only triggers (happens) when it is destroyed. Gigamantis in your battle zone = your Obsidians aren't destroyed but instead go to the mana zone. You get to put one in, but you don't get to take one out.

I'd use Bliss Totem with it instead.

Enchanted Soil is also tasty with Obsidian, and not vulnerable to creature kill.

Thrash Crawler, Solidskin Fish, Flood Valve, and Shtra can also be handy to grab it back from the mana zone if they insist on Snaring your last one ...

I run a deck with the scarab and I find that running enchanted soil and Bloodwing mantis do the job just fine. You can recure it as offten as you want. I also run trash crawler to help when i dont have the mantis out.
