Well another update has arrived. Here are some more Cross Gears. There's even a speed attacker one as I predicted.
Crimson Rifle
Cross Gear / Fire / 1
-Cross Gear: Put this card in the battle zone when cast. To cross this card with a creature, pay this card's cost again. When that creature leaves the battle zone, this card remains in the battle zone.
-Instead of attacking, the crossed creature may tap and use the following ability: Destroy 1 of your opponent's creatures of 2000 power or less.
Fire Blade
Cross Gear / Fire / 2
-Cross Gear: Put this card in the battle zone when cast. To cross this card with a creature, pay this card's cost again. When that creature leaves the battle zone, this card remains in the battle zone.
-The crossed creature gains "Speed Attacker".
Neo Sledge Armor
Cross Gear / Nature / 2
-Cross Gear: Put this card in the battle zone when cast. To cross this card with a creature, pay this card's cost again. When that creature leaves the battle zone, this card remains in the battle zone.
-The crossed creature gains "Power Attacker +3000".
-When the crossed creature is blocked, break one of your opponent's shields.
Hell Double Claw
Cross Gear / Darkness / 2
-Cross Gear: Put this card in the battle zone when cast. To cross this card with a creature, pay this card's cost again. When that creature leaves the battle zone, this card remains in the battle zone.
-When the crossed creature wins a battle. destroy it.
-The crossed creature gains "Double Breaker"
Shining Defense
Cross Gear / Light / 1
-Cross Gear: Put this card in the battle zone when cast. To cross this card with a creature, pay this card's cost again. When that creature leaves the battle zone, this card remains in the battle zone.
-The crossed creature gets +1500 and gains "Blocker".
Spiral Aura
Cross Gear / Water / 2
-Cross Gear: Put this card in the battle zone when cast. To cross this card with a creature, pay this card's cost again. When that creature leaves the battle zone, this card remains in the battle zone.
-When the crossed creature is destroyed, you may return it to your hand instead.
It would appear that the game will indeed be lengthened as these cross gears do not work well with rush decks. However they do have uses. It seems almost humorous to put a Crimson Rifle on a Blaze Claw and mow down the opponent with it. The Darkness one seems abusable, using it Aqua Soldier like cards.
Flame Blade is made for multiple use. Since you can transfer a Cross Gear to another creature. With Nature's mana boost, you can just keep Speed Attacking with every creature you summon.
Shining Defense and Spiral Aura aren't so good but they are mainly to use with other abilities and cross gears. For example giving the untargetable power 8000 power Ail Sonias blocker capability. It becomes 9500, able to block anything save the highest classes of creatures. Also it can power up. You could use Spiral Aura to give a slayer, the return to hand ability to keep slaying and slaying for example as well. Definitely interesting cards.
So what do people think? Are Cross Gears duds or studs?
I am really looking forward to the Cross Gears, moreso now that we've got a larger sample of what they will entail. Crimson Rifle looks particularly appealing to me, but then, so do they all. Fire Blade and Spiral Aura will be very fun to play with :)
I think the only card that could be used in a speed deck is Flame blade.For example playing it on gett/vorg/zyler when valdios is out could give you a really powerful SA creasture.
