have you ever played someone that was so arrogent it made you sick? if so tell your story! heres mine...
i was playing the kid my grandma baby sits and it was about even, he played a creature next turn he attacked with it and broke one of my shield...shield trigger!!! natural snare, i put his only creature in the mana zone. so he kept on going on how that 1 added mana card would lead him to his first ever victory, turn after turn he was ranting that is until he never played another creature after that, and he never played another creature is because he had a stack of cards he called his deck, every time he got cards he stuck them in the stack and passed it as a deck. he lost after that, i sent him packing. i just hate these people that are so arrogent turn after turn and end up losing...badly.
My favourite was beating BloodyJudgement ... twice.
Particularly because the second time he thought he had a Corile/Kill/Discard lock on me, and raved about how there was nothing I could do to get out of it.
Then his arrogance led to the mistake of attacking, which gave me the win.
I enjoyed beating BloodyJudgement as well (with da survivors). Especially when he declared his win prematurely before realizing he was a mana short to do his planned move, lol.
It was a good match though, and he is a good player. But I do not appreciate his attitude at all.
ya at the thunder charge release event my friend faced this really dumb kid. after every move my friend made he would say(hmm hmm) " good move but not good enough". even if it was a awsome move. and when he ws losing he kept singing a song about oranges. he shut up after he lost
I was playing at a five civi's tourney when after I beat some little kid(mabye 7 or 8), he called me a nig-ger! Like, what the hell is up with that? He had a deck focused around looking at ur opponents shields. It was easy bait, that deck was. And after the comment the store kicked him out of the tourney.
I've had to face a number of cocky kids before it duels but this one had to be the biggest!
Was in the middle of the swiss rounds and I'd just beaten this guy in our 1st duel and for some reason, he looked all smug and then said out loud that I was cheating! This completely caught me off suprise as I'd never be accused before but it goes me angry very quickly and just told the kid so shut it. The kid went on to say that he would beat me (being a cheater) to prove that I cheated. 2 duels later, I won comfortably 2-1 and it completely shut the kid up.
There is another kid as well thats very arrogant when he plays but everyone in our meta has played him before and he's lost every match he's played in for some time but keeps sticking with it, which in my view is admirable but his attitude still sucks at times!
I was playing today and people questioned the fact that I got 4 Holy Awe in 1 game.
The guy was positive I cheated coz of Marinomancer revealing 3 Awe, he was like, being really suspicious because I got 4. Its not to say I wasnt if he drew all 4 Pyrofighter in a 50 card deck...
Yah this kid in my invis he started saying he could win with what I played. And said interesting move when I had to kill him with a pyrofighter! He starts lieing and says he has to win because he couldnt go and wanted it free 'cause hes pore. Then howed he afford a 115 CARD DECK!!!
We have a great deal of respect for each other at my store. If we do any 'trash talking' it's just for fun. Only a few out-of-towners show that real cockiness. They sit down with me and say stuff like how they're going to beat me as soon as they draw their Bolshack. The moment I hear that I just silently count the minutes until I can remove Bolshack with access to like 6-8 different ways. They end up getting shut down 2-0, so the cockiness stops. :D Most of the cocky players I've encountered were younger than me. So, it's easy to ignore it. I just remain silent until I make 'em scoop, lol. Then, I sigh and say "good game."

Wow...I wouldve punched that kid straight in the mouth he said something like tht to me or a nice elbow to the jaw is always a nice hit lol. I dont care if your 9 or 90 we're fighting after that. In this case 7 or 8 Anywayz I was playing my friends cousin he runs a mono black control with Ballom/Trox/Shade/slash/etc . I was playing mono blue with unblockables/uber bounce. It was turn 7 and he destoyed my Lancer with hopeless vortex and he had tht one merchant of blood demon and a squito out so he broke 2 shields and he gave me another lancer and hit a memory. So i searched for a A.guard. he's like theirs nothing you can do and next turn you lose anywayz. Apparently he had a Ballom in his hand. But i didnt care he had no shields and one blocker. Summoned the a.guard and evoled it into Lancer and I win:D While he looks stupid in front of 8 other ppl lol. Public humiliation priceless.
As with Cecillbill's store, The people at the store I play at all have a certain level of respect for each other. There is this one guy (By guy, I mean he's 18), He gloats about how he's going to win the duel before they even start. And how "There's no way anyone can beat him". And what makes that funny is that he useually never wins. He's got a decent mono-blue deck and a really janky Dragon deck.
I don't want to sound like i'm bashing on him, He's a pretty good player and wins his fair share of games. But he really should stop gloating. Atleast he's got confidence in himself, Just alittle too much. ^_~
Arrogent plsyers to me is like that NFG thing. Like, I don't understand what hey are saying half the time and is always complaining about others. Kinda irrelevent but definatly compairable.
When I was at the invitationals in St. Louis Park I met this 13 year old kid from Monomony. He watched me and my friend Richard duel once and he started bragging about how he crushes all the kids in his area. (Probably a lie) After stopped I asked him if he wanted to trade. He said yes. So then I gave him my deck box full of foils to look at. He responded by pulling about 700 unsleeved cards out of his pockets and showing them to me.
He only had 2 foils. A supporting Tulip and a Billion Degree Dragon. Out of my cards he wanted my Bolshacks, Hanusa, and other variuos crap foils. I kindly said no thanx to him for trading. Then he said, and I qoute," You probably think you have an advantage now that you have seen my deck, but it's not what you got it's how you use it," in the snottiest voice I've ever heard. I responded by saying "not really". Instantly his proud smile was replaced by a frown and he walked away.
Just before the tournament started he told me, you better get in the finals, so I can CRUSH you. Now I didn't get the honor of kicking this kids can but I know he lost all of his games that entire day. I wanted to say to him, If what you said about it's not what you got it's how you use it, does that mean you just suck?
P.S. I have been on for a week because I was on vacation at the Wisconsin Dells.
