I went to the rules section to let you guys know about our "promo" (if you wish to call it that) card
Anyway back to the rules part (which I guess that I wish to put in the rules section as well): Justi-Break has been errata'd.
I also wish to mention that Justi-break only works for NORMAL monsters. it doesn't include non-effect monsters. so justi-break will save summoned skull, but not The masked beast, or a flame swordsman. because they are non-effect monsters, but they aren't normal monsters.
if this is different from how it is ruled in Japan, we will have to see if there is a change in the future. but this is how it will be ruled for now. Not to try to put people's names out there, but I want people to actually know the rule as UDE will have it, and go from there.
Hopefully it's another one of those weird mistakes...if I remember correctly, wasn't the ruling with Phoenix + Divine Wrath changed to make it NOT work when it DID work before???
Well, the Rule Book is pretty clear about "Normal Monsters". A Normal Monster is recognized by the Yellow Color Code. It doesnt say Blue Color Code or Purple Color Code.
It also doesnt say "other" Color Codes without effects, so that must mean that there is ONLY one class of Normal Monsters, and that is the ones with the Yellow Color Code.
If Divine Wrath never worked on Sacred Phoenix prior to the current Ruling, then it was definitely a mistake. Sacred Phoenix is not Treeborn Frog. She gets one chance to activate her effect, and if it is negated, then that's it.
Weird how Japan has it ruled that it protects non-effect Fusions and Rituals then...
totally understandable. but first let me chip in, before Kevin comes from out of nowhere with a ninja sword....
The JERP is a helpful guide to handling rules of the game in Japan. However, it is NOT an official policy of rules. this is somewhat like the relationship between the netrep files and what UDE had here in the states. Since UDE posted up their own official card rulings, there was no need for the netrep files.
Japan/Konami has not gone the distance with that situation as of yet. and as Kevin has said in the errata of Justi-Break, the japanese language is very vague, and a printed card may be what they have decided on at the time, then realized that there is a misrepresentation.
but as it stands, normal monsters are normal monsters. fusion and ritual monsters don't have to be effect monsters, but they are NOT normal monsters, and as such do not get the same protection and are affected by the same things as normal monsters are.
Yeah...I get the vague part...at least they've been doing a bit of a better job on things though (instead of keeping the "Special Summon-only" text for every monster, even Nomi, Nomis are now separated by "other than" and such)
