I've been working on this deck for about two to three weeks, and it's not an easy deck to run. It works, but you have to second guess your opponent's next move, and plan accordingly. I wanted to make a non-cookie cutter deck with Airknight as the Tribute. I knew, since Airknight's underpowered in ATK, I'd need to offset that with more control. My synergy explanations below the decklist will show you how my deck controls. As you will see, though, a lot of it depends on my opponent's moves, or my opponent's monster.
The goal of the deck is to control the tempo, even if your opponent thinks he's controlling it. The massive amount of quickplays and ATK modifiers allow the player set or change the tempo at will, and makes it hard for your opponent to guess what you have set. The quickplays draw out spell and trap removal. The Creature Swaps and Enemy Controllers allow me access to their beatstick monsters. If you manage to keep Mirror Wall down, and have it work once, it can upset your opponent's tempo. If you keep the pressure up with Creature swap and Enemy Controller, it will eventually outlast your opponent.
The downside is swarm, spell negation, or monster control from my opponent. This deck can't afford to have no monsters on the field, or most of it's spells and traps are merely half wabokus.

Airknight Parshath
- Tributing works with Last Will
- Enemy Controller can help him trample over larger monsters
- Rush recklessly pumps him big enough to take down any 6 star or lower monsters
- Mirror Wall helps against Cyber Dragon pummeling. Brings any monster within Airknight's range when they attack.
Asura Priest
- Works well with Creature Swap
- Rush Recklessly pumps him large enough to take down a swarm of Dark World
- Enemy Controller & Windstorm puts larger monsters in DEF mode, and heavy DEF monsters in ATK mode
Mirage Dragon
- Keeps the Sakus away! His itty-bitty ATK (1600) is offset by Rush & Mirror Wall
Shining Angel
- Angel Toolbox, everyone's been waiting for it!
- Combos with Creature Swap
- Rush pumps him to 2100, suicide with Cyber Dragon
- Mirror Wall anything attacking him for extra damage. Or Mirror Wall a 2800 ATK monster for extra fun.
D.D. Warrior Lady
- Searchable by Shining Angel
- Takes down monsters I can't control
The Forgiving Maiden
- Combos with Creature Swap (She's on the field in DEF, I swap a spent Breaker or Sangan, attack over it, then tribute her to put the monster back in my hand)
- Searchable by Shining angel for DEF
- Takes down common 1600 & 1700 attack monster when Mirror Wall's down
Pixie Knight
- Searchable by Shining Angel
- I can get a valuable spell card to the top of my deck, for combo-ing with monsters in my hand
- I can creature swap her over, and control my opponent's draw
Time Wizard
- Searchable by Shining Angel
- Massive Control, little offset (250 damage?)
Jowgen the Spiritualist
- Searchable by Shining Angel
- Takes down LV decks, and special summon decks
- Prevents Scapegoats, and destroys scapes with one card
Skelengel
- Draw Power
- 900 ATK is surprisingly effective against Mirror Walled monsters
- Time Wizard
- Jowgen the Spiritualist
+ Freed the Brave Wanderer
+ Freed the Brave Wanderer / Cyber Dragon
Time Wizard is pretty situatable in a lot of cases and needs to be set. It has some good advantages if the effect goes in your favor, but if not, then you could definently be hurting. Jowgen hasn't saw much play since the list swollowed Last Turn because he arrives at bad times and quite honestly, isn't that good anymore.
Dropping Jowgen for better removal, such as Freed is a better idea, IMO. Since the majority of your deck is light, running two of these guys shouldn't be a problem. However, you could replace one with a Cyber Dragon if you'd like to give you some field presents and tribute fodder for Airknight.
- Shining Angel
+ Cyber Dragon
Three Shining Angels in this deck is somewhat of an overkill because a lot of your searchable monsters need to be set to set off their effect. Make this change, especially with the above changes I made. I'm pretty sure you'll run a bit smoother.
- Windstorm of Etaqua
- Call of the Haunted
+ Blast With Chains
+ Blast With Chains
I see the tech you tried here, but go with something better. It's really not worth it. Blast With Chains can boost and work as removal, all at once. Call of the Haunted is just loosting its touch.
m0nky:
I like Freed, I even made a Freed RftDD deck before Freed became popular through Metagame's article. I'll probably create a Freed/RftDD side. My goal was an Airknight deck, though, so I'm keeping away from Chaos-types and CC if I can.
I chose not to run Cyber Dragon because I wanted to step away from CC as much as possible. I wanted to make a light deck that didn't require Cyber Dragons.
I run three Shinings only because I have 2 creature swaps, and two mirror Walls, which make him into a formidable threat. I wanted it to be an Airknight/Shining Angel toolbox. Hence the Time and Jowgen. I think I'll side Jowgen, though. He's a bad topdraw.
I like blast with Chains. They also can be used in the damage step. I think I'll try those! Thanks for the good idea with them. They might be the monster destruction my deck needs. I'll probably side two, or run one, side one. Probably replace Etaqua. I wish I could get Etaqua to be worthwhile.
pallwall:
I found Soul of Purity to be a dead draw early game. I found my deck couldn't afford dead draws in the first hand. Pixie can be deaddraw, but with so many quickplays, she can work out in my favor. I thought about roulette barrels, but I just don't like coin flips or dice rolls.
hypnowns:
Like m0nky suggested, I'm going to create a 15 card Freed/RftDD sidedeck. It might be a good backup, in case airknight and my normal sidedeck fails against CC.
I appreciate the suggestions! So far, I've got two good ideas to enhance my deck. I'm trying to make it regional-ready. November 26 is the regionals in my area.
