One thing I've been giving some thought to and mulling over is the idea of splashing Destiny Heroes as support for something else.
The D-Heroes and support I'm talking about are D-Hero Malicious, D-Hero Dasher, D-Hero Fearmonger, Destiny Draw and maybe D-Hero Disc Guy alongside Over Destiny.
Destiny Draw gives you consistancy and draw power, but requires D-Heroes for discarding, Malicious is meant to be run in threes and needs to be discarded or special summoned to be used to it's best, Dasher needs tribute support or to be discarded (thus being supported by Destiny Draw and Malicious) and Fearmonger needs dead D-Heroes to work.
The soon to be released D-Hero Disc Guy is a lvl 1 dark/warrior with Kuriboh-esque stats. Since it's level 1 you could special summon it from the deck with Over Destiny given that having any non-Disc Guy D-Hero in your grave would allow you to trigger it. From there it'd act as tribute fodder or some-such and be a revival target for later, since reviving Disc Guy from the grave would net you two draws.
This would probably result in an engine looking something like this:
Spells
3 Destiny Draw (Alongside Graceful Charity until the next ban list)
2 RotA
Some Brain Controls or Soul Exchanges
[1 or 2 Over Destiny]
Where I'm going with this is that D-Heroes have a lot of ways to put bodies on the field and cycle through the deck looking for a win condition.
What I'm having problems with is finding a good win condition to throw in with a D-Hero engine. Dreadmaster and Dogma are ineffective, the Diamond Blade deck is getting nuked with the coming ban list (so no Phoenix Blade + Dimension Fusion FTW), and Monarchs can't get the full benefit of the D-Hero engine given that Dasher does not trigger them.
DMoC is a logical choice, as are the Sacred Phoenix of Nephtys and Creator, but they are all 2 tribute monsters and rather cumbersome outside of a deck specializing in Dasher, Reasoning, Masoleum and/or other-such things. I'd prefer something in the 1 tribute range in order to make Brain Control or Soul Exchange less conditional.
Does anyone have a suggestion for some tribute monsters to be supported with the above line-up? Things to add? Stuff to tech against? Suggestions? Comments?
i could see ur above d hero stuff being well supported (and support) a 6 samurai deck once the next set comes out...they're all warriors, plus i think that would be 1 heck of a deck set up with having 2 different families within the same type of deck...which would give u the win condition of the deck being the samurai's
plus they all still get the added bonus of being dasher-able as far as i can tell
If I were you, I would put in three Dark Ruler Ha Des. He pwns Monarchs, both in strength and by spitting in the eye of Treeborn, Recruiters, and Flip effects. Also, since he's Dark, you could work on a cool dark theme, and he's a single tribute, which is what you were looking for in the first place.
Scapegoat your late. I am already running this engine in my big monster deck, that is why I liked the new packs. The engine =P. It runs alot faster now, I will post it up for you later
The main reason why I'm posting this stuff is because people are goading me into running D-Heroes at some constructed flights during the pre-release I'm going to.
That and I'll probably be wearing a grey suit so things may get funky.
That said, Ha Des is a good idea. Part of me wanted to run a single Guardian Sphinx as if I'm ever forced to tribute summon D-Hero Malicious I'd be setting it and it's always nice to be able to screw with opponents.
Main problem is that this is a combo oriented deck. If you dont have Destiny Draw .. you lose a lot of chewing power. Although ... you can work it out with other tricks.
Im prolly going to make a discard control deck soon with these as sorta side attactions.
I'm with Dr. Card, ha des would rock :) Unfortunately it wouldn't have much on gadgets. In that respect the phoenix makes more sense. Throw in one of two double dude and you could easily jump from 1 trib to 2 trib. Wiyth all the special summoning a pair of apprentice and a hand of nepthys could always get him out of your deck, thinning it even more. or you could side Ha Des into vampire lord for gadget match-ups.
What ? I'm drawing blanks here, but doesn't reload send cards to your deck, not your graveyard ?
Yeh but i think Scapegaot boy means that if Dasher is in your Graveyard and you dont draw the monster you want in your Draw Phrase, then you can chain Reload in your draw Phrase to pick up and choose which monster you want to specail summon with the cards drawn by reload.
The link in my sig is proof that this can (and has, to my own credit) be done. Its from the last list and without the Aster Phoenix cards, but its easy enough to make the substitutions where necisary.
with the release of e-hero stratos it would possible to have a d-hero support engine...it wouldnt be a problem with destiny draw along side it with fear monger, discguy(game promo coming soon), and dasher. and since all d-heroes and stratos is warriors they have the support cards of reinforcement of the army and warrior returning alive.
