Fifth Opression for this weekend's shop tournament
Shop play-offs this week, few national level competitors will be there. Been playing around with what deck to play (I don't get many chances to play players of this level). I finally decided on a gadget deck. Opression gadget is good in this format, but I didn't feel like playing pure oppression, so I teched oppression into a fifth gadget build. Plays very well. Seems to dominate in gadgets style even when I can't get to opression, and that feels good.
I guess I finally decided on a gadget deck because it feels very familiar to play. I have a few decks I would take to the shop tournament including my Dark Drain build, but I guess if I want a shot at this I need a deck I know inside and out. Been testing it two nights in a row and it plays pretty amazing. Testing with the gauntlet tomorrow because I don't know how it will fare against Demise and DDT. But so far it went 5-0 in straight games each time against aggro decks (3 Monarch, 1 DW and 1 Bazoo Return.
Monsters - 18
3x Green Gadget
3x Red Gadget
3x Yellow Gadget
3x Snipe Hunter
2x Banisher
2x Kycoo
1x Sangan
1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
Spells -15
3x Shrink
3x Fissure
3x SMashing Ground
1x Heavy Storm
1x MST
1x Nobleman
1x Confiscation
1x Limiter Removal
1x Pot of Avarice
Traps - 13
3x Sakuretsu Armor
3x Royal Oppression
3x Dust Tornado
2x Drop Off
1x Ring of Destruction
1x Ultimate Offering
So far, I'm not happy that I only actually drew Snipe twice in 10 duels (thank God for sangan). Not that I really needed him, but I will this weekend. So I'm thinking of removing one, if not both of my Kycoo's for Tomato's, except, that will conflict with opression. i think I can pull off one though. So I'd like some opinions in this regard.
Don't suggest Overload (conflicts with PoA, which is better), Torrential (which in this deck costs me more than the opponent) or Mirror Force (which is supposed to be in there instead of the third Dust, but sadly I let someone borrow my only copy, so I won't have it this weekend). Tested with Widespread, but I only have one at my disposal this weekend, and the dusts simply came out as better choices.
Side-deck comments much appreciated. In closed circle, with friends, you don't really get to test your side adequately. When I do Side, I find my options consistently, so I made a conscious decision to only run 5 different cards. Don't need Pulling the Rug, don't really expect other gadget decks and it does well against monarchs. I did think about removing either the crows or the BTH's for return from the DD, in case I run into D-fissure, but I don't really know if there will be any d-fissure decks. I doubt it.
All help is much appreciated, between now and saturday morning.

Good luck Belgian, I was suprised to see you picked up your gadget deck after saying "good bye to fifth gadget" a while back when you first tested 'em out.
I think you could get away with running that tomato.
I think Kycoos would be better sided, perhaps you'd want to consider dropping or siding them both for one copy of mystic tomato and either a destruction card or another monster such as D.D. Warrior Lady.
I'm not a huge fan of Banisher of the Radiance, I know it's good tech and all, but I think there're better options for you out there. Perhaps an exiled force.
If this post was helpful in any way, feel free to drop a few comments on one of the decks in my portfolio. "Uria Gate OTK" "Gamblin - Abusing the System" or "Flying Ninjas and all that Jazz" in particular. (I made it look nice after being jealous of how spiffy yours looked. ;) )

yes, but I fully expected them to be the dominant deck after that, which would have made them unappealing to me. Since that time, still no one seems to have fully mastered the art of building and playing gadgets, and last week when I played with the actual gadgets (not proxies) for the first time since I got them, that rede, green and yellow army on my field looked so good, I caved :)

I'm already a little heavy on the monster side. I'd be inclined to add a tomato and a widespread then. Don't think I need DDWL with two banishers in the main deck and three crows in the side.

I don't like exileds in this build much, same reason I don't play cards like torrential. I keep a pretty good field that proliferates each turn, so using a summon to destroy a monster seems in poor taste when I have so many traps and spells that do the same.

I already commented on Uria Gate a while back if you recall ;) So I'll have to pick one of the others.
