Hi I was wondering some of the consecuences of using this card:
1. If I use Grave robber, I seat the magic card from my opponentīs g-yard, then if I play it as my own and chain Damage polaryzer, could I still resolve the effect of activating my opponentīs card?
2. If I use BURST Chain (the trap card that inflicts 1000lp damage whenever a player activates a trap card) and I activate a magi card, and chaining Damage polaryzer...how would it get resolved?
(I want to use it so that my oppponent suffers damage on his turn, but I want to activate traps on my turn without damage)
3. If I apply 2 shrinks on a Cyber Dragon and Chain Machine Duplication, can I get the other cyber dragons out to the field from the deck?
4. If I do the anterior but with a proto cyber dragon can I still bring 3 cydras?

Since there's no rulings, I'll take a stab at it.
1. No idea, but Graverobber does inflict damage.
2. If Burst Chain is already activated and resolved, then its too late to activate Damage Polarizer.
1. TAKE, DECREASE or whatever does not equal EFFECT damage.
2. It only refers to the effect, not activation.
If it says damage its damage. I still don't know about Damage Polalizer, but Graverobber has damage that can be absorbed by cards like Pikeru's Circle of Enchatment or Des Wombat. That's effect damage.
Its hard to negate the activation of an effect that has already activated and resolved earlier.
The big question with Damage Polarizer is, "What are the restrictions?" Does it only work with cards that only inlflict damage; or can those effects inflict damage and do something else? Does the damage have to be immediate or can it come later? A ruling or two would be nice.

Wow, you REALLY should brush up on your rulings first:
[Re: Barrel Behind the Door] "Barrel Behind the Door" cannot be activated against cards that do not inflict damage when the card resolves, such as "Graverobber", which inflicts damage later.
Graverobber is similar to Power Bond in ways. You can protect the damage you take from either one of those cards with Pikeru or Wombat but not with Barrel Behind the Door. The reason being is becuz you have to chain Barrel to the activation of a card that will inflict damage. Wombat is a continuous effect always protecting your lifepoints from effects. Pikeru does the same, but only for the turn its activated. and yes Pikeru does protect you from draw phase to end phase depending on when you activate it. I'm not exactly sure how it works with damage polarizer though. I can test it out on my DS with the new 07 game whenever i get the chance.

Damage Polarizer
Counter Trap
Activate only when an effect that inflicts damage is activated. Negate its activation and effect, and each player draws 1 card.
Graverobber
Normal Trap
Select 1 Spell Card from your opponent's Graveyard. You can use it as your hand until the end of the turn. If you use it, you take 2000 points of damage.
I think it is really important to make a distinction here, which I haven't seen yet. We need to note that Graverobber does indeed inflict damage. However, it does not inflict damage at the time Graverobber is activated. If you read Damage Polarizer, it says that damage has to be guaranteed at the time of activation - which, in this case, happens at some later time.

yup that sounds right. i just tested it myself and no dice. It's pretty much the same rulings for barrel behind the door.

The distinction is what type of damage, not that it does inflict damage, Graverobber though "damage", it is NOT an effect damage.

Yes it is. You just can't use Polarizer on it, because it doesn't deal damage when it is activated. Like hansej says, what other kind of damage would it be ? There is battle damage, and then there is "other damage", which we refer to as effect damage.
Ok, so ...how then would you explain POWER BOND and Damage Polaryzer? they must be combined for you to avoid damage from a FUSION summon, which was already activated in MP1 (main phase 1). There for a lot of things could happen in BP, and MP2 until the end phase where you would (normally) activate damage polaryzer to negate power bondīs effect.
