Okay, as you can see, I run E heroes, the set that invaded our packs for a while and has one of the biggest support pools since, well, ever. Now lets look at my deck. I have 6 ways to get my polymerization. Thats 3 King of the swamps and 3 polys. In my deck, which has 40 cards, that gives me, statistically, a 17% chance of drawing it after I draw my 1st 5 cards.
Now we will look at my monsters. I have 8 ways to get Sparkman (2 x rota, 3 x Emergency call, stratos, and drawing it), 9 ways to get avian, wildheart, burstinatrix, or clayman (2 x rota, 3 x Emergency call, sangan, stratos, and drawing it), and 7 ways to get the hero god sent, Stratos (2 x rota, 3 x Emergency call, and drawing it). Okay, that makes the chance of me drawing one of the way to get any hero after my 1st 5 cards is 23%.
There are also a few other factors that I consider key to my luck. One of them is Future Fusion. This lets me thin 2-4 cards from my deck (4 only if I side in bubbleman). This along with all my searchers (10 in total) allow me to thin out lots of cards giving me a much greater chance to get what can help me.
Another of these things is Morphing Jar. This little guy allows me to get out of any hard place. If I waste my hand on getting out a Shining Flare Wingman and it gets saku or Mirror Forced then i can get back some advantage by setting him. He also helps me get rid of some stuff so i can miracle fuse them. I sometimes even use it to disadvantage my opponent by trunading his back row and then using him.
The final card that helps me out is Magical Merchant. This little bug helps me get to that precious Miracle Fusion or Polymerization when i need it. He helps thin the deck and gets you a card. Its sort of like sangan in a way.
That's it from me. As you can see, I'm really not that lucky. Its just that I use my multiple thinners to my advantage.
*This thread was made to explain to Xav and Monkeychild3000 that I'm not as lucky as they say
I could easily be wrong on this, but I think panther's not only doing this to change your opinion, but also to examplify how easily luck can be generated in the game. He was simply displaying the many ways he had to obtain the cards he needed, making it actually that his opponent is lucky should he not, rathwer than that he didn't get an awesome draw like most E-hero decks require.
BTW,. Panthers, I've always been impressed with yur work on E-heroes. This deck is awesome. :) two questions, though: why aren't you using ocean? you can get E-heroes back from the grave by playing this.
second, which Elemental hero fusion do you try to make more than others? Shining flare, or do you have a favorite, like me and my friends? I prefer Rampart Blaster, myself.
You didn't even TALK about luck!
This makes very little sense.
I didnt talk about luck because I was explaining why i get good draws not really about luck. I was explaining how other people can get "lucky" by simply following my example shown in the thread and add searchers, thinners, etc.

There is a distinct difference between consistency and luck. Consistency is demise otk and panther's deck running plenty of searchers. Luck is losing to a snatch steal/heavy storm/ring of destruction on a consistent basis without specific cards to search them out. Sure you can thin your deck by 12-14 cards in a duel to increase the odds of drawing needed cards, and then save it for the exact moment you will need it. However, the chances of drawing them almost every duel, and winning with those cards, are slim to none.
Good mini-article though Panther, it will help demonstrate to people how consistency is indeed different than luck.
I thought this was very good, the massive search-ability of the Elemental Heroes is one of my favorite things about them. They give you the ability to pretty much have any card in your deck that you want, whenever you want it. I personally enjoy using Hero Signal to fuel my Miracle Fusion combos and get a free summon. Hero Signal is even better if you take Stratos, that is one of my favorite moves.
Aside from their trump card, Miracle Fusion, the unparalleled searching is the Elemental Heroes' greatest strength.
You have done a very good job explaining this for the people who didn't already understand it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but in each of those examples, you list the numbers of ways as one more than they really are. For example, Sparkman, I count 2+3 (the 5 Spells you listed) + 1 (Stratos) + 1 (drawing it) = 7, but you say 8. Would you care to explain?
Aside from my nit-picky-ness, very nice article about the E-Heroes. I've never particularly liked running them myself, but it just goes to show that they're not as luck-based as others seem to make it (at least around where I duel). I'd like to see that deck in action someday.

That's because he counted Sparkman twice because he has two copies in his deck which does bring it up to 8.

Does anyone see anything that I may have missed? And if u like it....give me rep points.....
e-hero is the most lucksackish deck Ive ever faced. Top a Miracle Fusion during topdeck mode ... ? WTF!
This may be true.....ask xav about my deck......he will explain.....but.....as I attempted to explain, heroes have mass searchers, therefore, you can thin and get to the things that help when in top deck mode.....
