This came up during a duel.

Player A flips Call of the Haunted, targetting Cybernetic Magician. Player B chained Royal Decree. Later that turn, Player A plays Snipe Hunter and discards a card, targeting Royal Decree. Player B has no response and Player A rolls, and gets 3, destroying Royal Decree. Now, Player A tried to revive his Cybernetic Magician, claiming that call effect would reactivate, citing the ruling of Swords of Revealing Light vs Spell Canceller. Player B stated that Call would "forget" the target and sit meaningless. Which is correct

Call has only ONE chance to retrieve a monster, so Call will sit meaningless on the field.
