can i activate solemn judgement to negate the special summon of ruby carbenucle when it is being special summoned by the (can't remember 4th or 5th) effect of ancient city ranbow ruins??

i was told that i couldnt because it was a game mechanic of ancient city rainbow ruins which i can not negate with solemn judement anyone else help with this ruling thanks !!

o.k. thanks xav for the help... that is the way we played it. for a side question what can stop this special summon??? royal oppresion and torrential are the only things i can think of off the top of my head, thanks again for the help!!!

Torrential Tribute doesn't "stop" a special summon. It does NOTHING to the summon. It just kills all monsters when a a monster is summoned. It's like playing Sakuretsu Armor on a monster. Does nothing to the attack, but you trigger it when they attack.

As for what can stop Ruby...Ojama Trio get a kick out of it XD. Not much that can "negate" Ruby's summoning though. Divine Wrath stops Ruby's effect...

lol i know tt does not stop the summon but in essence it will stop all the darn c.b. from coming back to the field!!! eatagaboon works too i think!!

Do you mean activating Torrential in response to Ruby's effect? Or are you taking about in response to the Field Card? If in response to field card, all you kill is Ruby. If In response to Ruby, you kill everything he summons + Ruby.

Also, Eatgaboon doesn't stop it all. All it does is kill the Ruby. He still summons stuff.

i was talking of the later and wasnt quite sure about eatagaboon... its been awhile since i have seen it played!! i was just preparing to find ways to counter the cyrstal beasts as i feel they are on the come.(gambling reference)

if anyone can get a hold of a rainbow dragon i have a feeling this deck will be tier one !! dust of your solemns,princess of tsurgi,giant trunades, etc.... they are and will be a force to be reckoned with.

Nah. They have too many rulings that nerf them. Just check them.

I'll show you the 3 rulings that kill them:

1) This effect cannot be used if a "Crystal Beast" monster is destroyed by a card effect while face-down.

2) If your opponent controls one of your "Crystal Beast" monsters and it is destroyed, your opponent can choose to place it in their Spell & Trap Card Zone. If they choose not to, it is sent to your Graveyard.

3) You can't choose a "Crystal Beast" that's in the Magic or Trap Zone for "Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins" 3rd effect.

Those three hurt them REALLY bad.
