It was a dark and eerie night; everything was quiet at the Realms. This was unusual for a Thursday night; something must be going on….I wandered the area, wondering where everyone was. The mods were away and even the usual n00bish flooders were quiet. I came upon a few random people but as I walked up on them they turned away a disappeared into the darkness.

“Why is everyone ignoring me?” I wondered, kicking a random can into an alley. I continued through the streets and found another lone can. I kicked it David Beckham style toward a box. When the can hit the box, however, there wasn’t the usual thud. There was a thud but it was deeper than before and it was followed by a moan. The box started to shake and a confused Xav stuck his head out of the box and shouted “Who is messing with my box?....is….is that you Panther?....why?....why have you returned?” I stumbled back in shock of his new appearance, but probably more because of his smell, and asked “What has happened to this place Xav?…..everything is….destroyed…” Xav only shook his head and hid back in his box. I plugged my nose, as to not faint from the rancid smell, and approached Xav. He was playing with his card in an imaginary duel that seemed familiar for some reason. “Wait a second…was this the Realms Control Duel?” I asked Xav as he rocked back and forth in the fettle position muttering “Why didn’t this work, I don’t understand, why couldn’t I have won? Why….why….WHY!!!” I had finally discovered why this was happening, but who was behind it all, and why did they want the Realms? It’s not like they could make any money from it. “Xav,” I asked quickly, “who did you duel? Who did your clock lose too?”

Right when I finished that sentence Xav let out a shriek of pain and fell back into his box. I tried to pull him out but something was keeping him in the box. He rolled around in pain but suddenly stopped and seemed to pass out. I checked his pulse…he was dead. Why is all of this happening to the Realms, and why is no one doing anything about it. As I contemplated this I heard something behind me. I quickly turned around, but nothing was there. When I turned back to Xav, he was gone! “Is Xav still alive?” I thought frantically as I looked around for any sign of movement. There was nothing there. What had just happened confused me almost to the point of insanity, and then I saw it. A small, shadowy figure crept by slowly. Whoever it was either didn’t see me or didn’t care to see me because they kept walking. I stood there, staring and the hooded figure for no real reason. When I got hold of myself, I chased him down. “Hey, hey you….in the cloak….I need your help…”

The figure stopped and slowly turned around. I couldn’t make out who it was, so I shouted “Who are you?” The person didn’t heed my call but slowly pulled out a duel disk. “I guess that’s what you want…okay then…if I win, you have to tell me who you are, and what you did with Xav. Okay” The person still said nothing and crammed a deck into the duel disk and out of no where hologram generators appeared. “I guess you have been waiting for this duel…” I said while I put on my own duel disk. “This is my only shot,” I thought, “I have to win this….or all of this was for nothing.”

I had no clue what to expect from the small duelist, so I had to be ready for anything he threw at me. “I’ll start things off,” I shouted as I drew my first cards. “This is interesting….I’ll summon Elemental Hero Wildheart and put 2 cards facedown. That’s it for me.”

The little duelist drew his cards but still said nothing. He shoved a few cards into his duel disk and one flipped over revealing Upstart Goblin. “Thanks for the lifepoints!” I exclaimed, but I knew that there was a plan behind it some where. Another card was drawn and a card was crammed into the disk and it revealed Nightmare’s Steelcage. The duelist pointed at me, I guess signaling the end of their turn.

“Hrmmm,” I thought, “You have 2 facedown cards, I wonder what they are….” “I draw, and I will throw a card into defense mode. I’ll activate Reinforcement of the Army next, allowing me to get Elemental Hero Stratos. Now since I can’t attack, I guess it is your go.”

The figure drew and shouted “Yes!!!” “Wow,” I said surprised, “You actually talked.” I could tell it was a guy I was dueling by his tone, unless it was an extremely manly girl. “I activate my 2 facedown cards.” He said, cutting of my thinking monologue, 2 Legacy of the Yata Garasu flipped up and he picked up 2 cards. “I will set 1 monster and set a facedown and it’s your move.”

I drew and stammered at the luck that had hit me. “I will flip my Magical Merchant, and off the top I lose….well….nothing….Miracle Fusion comes to my hand. Now I activate in response to my merchants flip, Torrential Tribute.” I watched as every monster got washed away except my Wildheart. “Why did you have to destroy my nimble…” He cried. “Had to be done, just like this has to be done. I summon Stratos, and using his special ability, I will destroy your cage.” The cage around us was destroyed and relief rushed over me. “Now my monsters, charge.” My monsters hit, making the lifepoint count me 9000 and him 4700. “Your move.” I said with glee as he drew.

“Now you will regret dueling me. I activate Good Goblin Housekeeping. So I send this card to the bottom of my deck and draw one card. Now I activate, my ultimate card, Clock Tower Prison! And I will also activate Nightmare Steelcage!. He shouted as a huge, Big Ben like clock came out of the ground behind him and a cage went around me. “I knew it,” I said with disappointment, “You did kill Xav…” He laughed maniacally and ended his turn.

“I will avenge your death Xav!! I draw, and now I activate Giant Trunade, bye clock…” “I don’t think so” he said as he activated his Dark Bribe trap card. “Okay then, Ill just draw a card for that then, and now I will activate it, Future Fusion, sending my Wildheart and Avian to the graveyard, now I activate Miracle Fusion to fuse them together to form the Elemental Hero Wild Wingman!!! Now I discard my other Miracle Fusion to destroy your clock, and my Sparkman to destroy your Cage, now attack, my monsters, and win this duel!” I screamed as the figure let out a scream of pain. He fell to the ground and a ran over to him, I couldn’t believe my eyes…it was…
