Yes folks...it is time for us to think back on the year that was 2007.
Mr. Chaos
2007. The year that I consider my transition year. I went from being a student to a working man, and a working man to someone with a potential manager position. I completed a full year as Head Staff Writer, then a full year as a moderator…all without destroying one of the general areas of the website. And as those who were here for my early days on the site know, the mere fact I am now a mod, let alone a good one, is proof that anyone, no matter how big a screw up, can mature.
In writing, I completed my opus, Glory Days, and also began to seek out an agent for my novel GRIM: The White Bridge. Of course, I also began work on the sequel, The Devil’s Due, and creating a new novel, a western called A Pale Horse.
2007 saw me graduate, with honors, from the University of Michigan, a very proud moment. It also saw me change my entire outlook on life, as I went from being a reporter to someone that wanted to be a manager. Now, I am working on getting my dream job: Toy Merchandiser for a large super store chain.
In 2007, I became a Republican. Not a Bush-ie Republican…no, a Michigan Republican, someone that is conservative with money but liberal with society. My old Democratic friends don’t speak much to me anymore.
2007 saw me abandon Yu-Gi-Oh for a while for other hobbies, including Transformers and my strange new fansination with Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan fiction (namely, just Spike. Spike beats ya’ll ya down). Yes, I did continue my work to become the master of the D-Heroes, but this was probably my leanest year for cards. Maybe it was because I sought out not to build new decks, instead focusing on old ones…only to find that, despite a few times when they did release new help for old cards, I was pretty much left out. Thus, I had to decide to either wait…or reexamine my stance. I chose a third option: Destroy about 7 of my decks and make atleast two new ones. Thus with Shadow of the Dragon in January, and my getting D-Hero Plasma…things are looking up for 2008.

Wow, this was a nutty year. I was crushing school on literally a daily basis and slinging drinks at night... And being here.
Yea, I'm here. Since 2003 and I've been here every day since. I've enjoyed watching the game evolve although I have to admit the end of this year was a flop for the TCG. What is up with 15 secrets, and some of them simply ARE NOT PULLED. Necroface? you are paying at least 250. Soul taker is up to 100 dollars... Why is everyone opening Dragon Ice, Chaos Neos, etc? The Sheshuia (sp?) promos seem to be the rarest... I've not SEEN some of these cards in person... and I see alot. Why does UDE push away people who spend money only FORCE those people to go to the secondary market to get what they want. It looks like your chances of getting a necroface in a pack are worse than your chance of winning the lottery (1000 people a year win a million or more in the lottery) or being struck by lightning (100 people a year) Do you think there are 100 necrofaces out there? I dont want to think about that stuff anymore... I want to move the site forward. Kingdom Hearts TCG anyone? The game is AWESOME and doesnt cost someone an arm and a leg to play...Get in early folks this game is fun and addictive as BAWLS energy drinks.
Have a great year folks!

Hello everyone, my exciting year consisted of my husband having open-heart surgery (he's doing fantastic now, thank you very much ). As for my Yugi life, I decided to let my 15 year old son start doing some major trading. Up until now, I have done all of the trading for our massive collection while he did all of the dueling. (he did try to teach me to duel, but alas, I suck terribly). So, I figured since they were actually HIS cards, he could try his hand at doing some trades. Well, he has done a fantastic job of trading, nearly as well as I could have done. It brings a tear to my eye LOL
So, now I have turned my baby loose and now I stay home most Saturdays. I still go to Regionals and Sneak Peeks (I have to see my Yugi kids and get my trading fix), but I leave the majority of the trading to Jared now.
I know, it's a pretty boring story, but, I lead a pretty boring life
So, here's to next year being just as boring as this year!! When you're as old as I am, that's a good thing!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!

Looking at the previous year, I wonder just how much a person can find themselves growing in such a small amount of time. At the beginning of the year, all I could think about was the game of Yugioh, a few choice anime, and getting myself back into mainstream school. I was obsessed with what I liked, and what revolved around me.
As the year progressed, I found myself growing without even realizing it. I started the year as a noob. Yes, I admit it, I was an elitest, ignorant idiot, and I imagine I wasn't loved much by the realms. There's only so much ownage a man can take, however, before he realizes the TCG world doesn't revolve around him. Making friends online, getting a manga published, and electing to stay out of a year of school I had worked so hard to get into to help my mom with her heart condition, I look back and wonder what could trigger such a spurt of maturity. Then I remember that the word poop is still funny... and all is right with the world.
Becoming a Staff Writer... that took more work than it would take Rosie O'Donnel to get into shape. I tried five or six times, and each one was to no avail. Steadily, I made friends on the site. Panther, Xav, and others. As my popularity grew with my humility, I was finally accepted into the trial by fire. I crapped myself every time a new post was made, I swear. In the end, it all worked out okay, and I got in, making new articles every other Wednesday for all my loving fangirls.
Now, looking at love gained and lost, worthless efforts chasing tail, and of course, puppeteering midgets from a safe seat in my wheelchair (a long story, and a TRUE one at that... wierd.), I realize that all in all, with my mom recently recovering and my dad growing the nuts he lacked before..... It's been a good year.

The year comes to a close and it's a bit sad cause it's been a fun one. Over the summer I sorta went into hiding to try and figure out how to overthrow Mr. Chaos' Empire as the head...but I sorta got lazy half way through the plan and decided to go visit the folks instead.
My skills as deckbuilding and dueling showed as I took Big City to my regionals in June and made top 8, on the way even taking down a Decree Gadget deck with the help of Gravity Bind! Go figure eh? I have yet to show a lack of love in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! and play more then ever, as I finally have competent players AND competent decks. YAY!
Finally I must say it's great to see myself here on the Staff team for nearly a year, as I started in Januray! I'm short a few articles, but hey, I'm going a little stronger now. Here's hoping I can help someone out there break the game wide open next year!
Dr.Card
This year was, put simply, brilliant. I became a Staff Writer, I went to my first Regional, and I saw some pretty massive changes in this game. In fact, the Structure Deck fiasco aside, I liked every change in the game this year. The way the game has changed… for the first time, I feel like I can be a competitive duelist, and that’s one of the best feelings ever. However, you all already know how great the game did this year, so I’ll talk a little about my life. This year I made a massive achievement: I got my first degree Black Belt in karate. If I go to any school in the world, of any style, they will recognize that I am a professional in at least one martial art, and could probably pick up theirs in a month or two of learning. I also got braces this year, and will have them off again by the next Year in Review. Come to think of it, I plan to have a LOT more in the next one. Sorry my life this year wasn’t so interesting, but thank you for reading my articles, and Merry Christmas… Happy Chanukah… Happy KWANZAAAAAAAAA, to-oo, you! (bonus points to anyone who got that last part)

Well, I guess it's that time of the year to reflect on everything that has happened. This year has been pretty good for me. I feel like I've matured and became a better person over this year because I've had good friends to help me through the bad times. And who can forget that this is the year that I became a Staff Writer on the realms. I'm not to sure whatelse to say, I mean lot's has happened this year, this has probably been one of the better years of my life. I hope everyone on the realms has a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

And now, as tradition…Mr. Chaos makes up what all the other mods and writers did this year!
Mickpalmer316 developed an ice cream that doesn’t make you fat, it just makes you bitter and annoying. He sold it all to Rosie O’Donald, and began dating a woman named Lili.
Redbladeliger journeyed the universe to discover the secret of 52 with Booster Gold and Rip Hunter.
Shinigami_Obelisk had a sex change operation and renamed himself Lili.
Venomlord read the last Harry Potter book, then went off on his own. He still searches for that wizard school…it consumes him.
Neon__lights was elected the ambassador of Micitoyoka, a country he made up.
mortals would use the year plotting his takeover of Cleveland. When asked why anyone would want to rule Cleveland, mortals paused, shredded his plans and cried at the year wasted.
Typhon is still rich.

Ah, so the kiddies found this message...clever little boys and girls.
But I'm not quite ready to begin the party, so I'm afraid this is as far as we go. But as a parting gift, I'll give you something to ponder...
Go read All New Booster Gold instead. Best...comic...ever.
It even makes fun of Countdown its first issue, with Rip telling Booster "Ignore the Countdown, focus on more important things"
I just got done reading all of the 52 trade, and I can't wait for the Booster Gold trades (original series and new series).
They should have ditched countdown and focused on the Sinestro Corp and the upcoming Corp Wars...and, of course, the Blackest Night.
Yeah I've actually been reading the new Booster Gold series from the get go. It's pretty entertaining so far and I always enjoy Dan Jurgens' clean style, whether he is just doing the layouts or whatever.
Sinestro Corp was entertaining, though I'm not sure how I feel about the concept of the Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Orange, Gray, Pink, and Gold Lanterns. I guess only time will tell on that one.
The main thing I'm afraid of is that they set 52 up to recreate the multiverse and then Countdown/Final Crisis up to destroy it yet again making one Earth. I'm going to feel like I wasted my time reading 52 if this is truly the case.
